Chapter 1-First battle with lightning force
Emptiness.
The young man was floating, alone in the dark. He can't even muster an ounce of energy to open his eyes.
[ACTIVATION]
What? What is that sound?
[TIME TO WAKE UP, SIR]
That was the moment he felt something against his skin. Wind? Maybe. Then he heard a female voice.
"Chrom, we have to do SOMETHING!" Her voice sounded worried, not noticing the young man slowly opening his eyes.
"What do you propose we do?" Another male voice asked the female.
"I… I dunno…" She said. That's when he finally opened his eyes and both the speakers come into view.
On the left, there is a blue-haired man with eyes of the same color. He seem to be the older of the two. And on the right, a young lady with blonde hair, pigtails, and light blue eyes. She about a head shorter than the blue-haired man.
"I see you're awake now." The male said leaning closer.
"Hey there." The female said while crouching down.
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground you know. Give me your hand." The male offering out his right hand. The young man reached out and with help, standing on his feet. That when he notice something is wrong with his vision, there was a circle on the faces of the male and the female and above their head was a green question mark. He started blinking and waving his hands in front of his eyes a few times but the strange things didn't disappear.
"You all right?" Noticing the strange behavior, the blue-haired man asked.
"Y-Yes …Thank you, Chrom," The young man was startled by the question and answered without thinking. Right at that moment, the question mark above the blue-haired man change into Chrom with green color but with a bit of blue around it.
"Ah, then you know who I am?" Chrom replied, that when young man realize the problem he just made.
"No, actually, I…It's strange…Your name, it just… Came to me…" He confessed.
"…Hmm, how curious. Tell me, what's your name? What brings you here?" Chrom inquired him.
"My name is…It's…" He holds his head trying to remember but nothing seems to come to mind "Hmm?"
"…You don't know your own name?"
"I'm not sure if… I'm sorry, but where am I, exactly?" He asked while looking around.
"Hey! I've heard of this! It's called amnesia!" the female shouted.
"It's called a load of pegasus dung," It's was only then that the young man realize a man with short brown hair, much taller than the other two, donning in a blue and silver armor response, not believing one bit "We're to believe you remember milord's name, but not your own?"
"B-But it's the truth!" The young man insisted. He also noticed that there was also a question mark on the man's head but in addition to the green, there was a faint red around it.
"…What if it IS true, Frederick? We can't just leave him here, alone and confused. What sort of Shepherds would we be then?" Chrom said.
"Just the same, milord, I must emphasize caution" The man, with his name Frederick now appear above his head, insisted "'Twould not do let a wolf into our flock."
"Right then – we'll take him back to town and sort this out there." Look like Chrom is the leader of this group.
"Wait just a moment. Do I have a say in this?" The young man asked, feeling a bit anxious. This getting the attention from the group.
"Peace, friend – I promise we'll hear all you have to say back in town. Now come." Chrom finished and the group including the young man started walking to the closest town.
While walking with the group, the young man questioned himself 'Why? Why can't I remember my name?'
[OH, YOUR NAME IS ROBIN, SIR]
A windown suddenly appear before his eyes make him startle a little bit. This got the attention of the female "Hey, what's wrong?" She asked with concern in her voice.
"Oh no, nothing. Sorry for making you worry" Robin replied.
"Okay, if you said so" she said and look back on the road.
With the quick conversation gone, Robin turn back to the window in front of him 'Wh-Who are you?"
The window disappear and another one replace the previous.
[MY NAME IS ARK. AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE]
'Artificial intelligence?'
[JUST CONSIDER ME AS YOUR COMPANION. I WILL HELP YOU WITH EVERYTHING I CAN]
'Then was it you who put all those question mark on everyone face?'
[YES, IT IS. THE COLOR ALSO HAS IT MEANING. THE GREEN MEAN THAT THE PERSON HAD NEUTRAL BEHAVIOR TOWARD YOU, BLUE MEAN THE PERSON CONSIDERED YOU AS A FRIEND, AN ALLY AND RED IS ENEMY]
'So that mean Chrom somewhat believe in me but Frederick is a bit hostile toward me'
[THAT IS CORRECT. BUT DON'T WORRY SIR, THESE EMOTION CAN CHANGE. IN THE END, THAT IS WHAT MAKE HUMAN – HUMAN]
'Wh – What do you mean by that?' Robin asked but Ark not response back. 'Ark? Hey Ark, you there?"
Look like Ark not planning to talk with him. Robin sighed, he stopped, turning at the trio to asked.
"So, what will you do to me? Am I to be your prisoner" He asked Chrom, feeling a bit confident since his name had a bit of blue.
"Hah! You'll be free to go once we establish you're no enemy of Ylisse," Chrom responded with a smile.
"Is that where we are? Ylisse?"
"You're never heard of the halidom?" Frederick laughing "Ha! Someone pay this actor. He plays quite the fool! The furrowed brow is especially convincing…"
"Frederick, please," Chrom responded and looked back at Robin
"This land is known as the Halidom of Ylisse. Our ruler, Emmeryn, is called the exalt." Then he noticed something had been skipping on his mind the whole time "I suppose proper introductions are in order... My name is Chrom—but then, you already knew that. The delicate one here is my little sister, Lissa."
"I am NOT delicate! ...Hmph!" The girl, who now known as Lissa raised both her hands and shouted while pouting.
'She look kinda cute acting like that'
[OH~~ DOES MY MASTER ALREADY HAVE FEELING FOR SOMEONE]
'So now you decide to speak, huh?'
No response. Robin sighed again.
Lissa turning to Robin and smile " Ignore my brother, please. He can be a bit thick sometimes. But you're lucky the Shepherds found you. Brigands would've been a rude awakening!"
"Shepherds? You tend sheep? ...In full armor?" Robin asked, a little bit confused.
"Heh, it's a dangerous job. Just as Frederick the Wary here." Chrom chuckled
"A title I shall wear with pride. Gods forbid one of us keeps an appropriate level of caution. I have every wish to trust you, stranger, but my station mandates otherwise." Frederick stated
"I understand, sir. I would do no less myself. My name is Robin." Robin said, thinking this was the right time to bring up his name "…I just remembered that. How odd. I suppose that's one mystery solved."
"Robin? Is that foreign?" Chrom asked while Lissa turn her back from the group, looking into the distance "...Ah, well. We can discuss it later. We're almost to town. Once we-"
"Chrom, look! The town!" Lissa panicked as the group turns to see her direction. There, they saw the old town with the building that was now on fire.
"Damn it! The town is ablaze!" Chrom exclaimed "Those blasted brigands, no doubt... Frederick, Lissa! Quickly!"
"What about him?" Frederick pointing at Robin.
"Unless he's on fire as well, it can wait!"
"Aptly put, milord."
"Let's go already!" Lissa shouted.
The trio rushes towards the burning town, leaving Robin behind.
"But what about – hmm…" He asked, not knowing what to do now.
[I SUGGEST WE GO TO SUPPORT THEM]
'What do you mean? I don't have a weapon with me right now. Even if I go, I will only be a burden to them'
[BELIEVE ME SIR, THAT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU NEED TO WORRY ABOUT]
In the middle of the town, a barbarian with a fur-covered his body is commanding his small group attacking the town.
"Gwa ha ha! Get to it, lads! Grab anything shiny, and put the rest to the torch! We gots an example to set for these Ylissean types!" the barbarian laughing lowly then turned to a maiden "Ain't that right, lass?"
"S-stay away from me! Please! Someone! HEEEEEELP!" She screamed just as Chrom entered the town followed by Lissa and Frederick, he is weilding the Falchion, Lissa holding a healing staff and Frederick riding on a horse with a silver lance and shield.
"Chrom, we have to stop them!"Lissa gasped at the sistuation of the town,
"Don't worry—after today, these bandits won't be bothering anyone ever again..." Chrom assured, raise the Falchion to prepare for battle.
"Wait!" A voice shouted behind them. It was Robin who now rushing and standing in front of the group.
"Robin! You followed us! Why?"
"I...I'm not certain myself." He said "But something inside me tells me to come and help you guys. I know my way around a fight, so please let me help you"
[THEY REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW ACCURATE THE 'SOMETHING INSIDE YOU' IS]
'Quite'
"Of course—strength in numbers. Just stay close!"
"If you truly want to help us, then I will put my suspicious on hold for now. Don't think of any funny bussiness." Frederick said, holding his lance "Remember this, we face practiced thieves and murderers. They will grant us no quarter. It's kill or be killed."
Robin nodded, pulling out his weapon.
"So, Robin, I see you have a… What kind of weapon is that." Chrom asked, pointing at the weapon Robin was holding. It was something look like a black briefcase with a green diagonal line in the middle.
"Well…"
Flashback – a few minutes ago
"What do you mean I just have to draw the weapon out?"Robin asked.
[EXACTLY WHAT I SAID, SIR. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PULL YOUR HAND OUT, GRAB THE WEAPON AND PULL IT BACK]
Robin while still hesitating, did as Ark instructed. He reach out and suddenly his hand disappear inside a void. While panicking, he somehow touched an object. He immediately grabbed it and pulled it out.
[CONGRATULATION SIR. THIS RIGHT HERE NAME IS ATTACHE CALIBUR. THIS WILL BE ONE OF YOUR MANY EXCLUSIVE WEAPON]
Robin look at the weapon wondered.
"So how this is a weapon?"
[I BELIEVE WE MUST HURRY TO REACH THE GROUP. I WILL EXPLAIN ON THE WAY]
Flashback end
Instead of explaining, Robin pulled out the blade of the weapon, turning it into a sword
"So this is what this weapon look like" Robin said while the trio are now in awe at the weapon.
"Okay, then I'm gonna go first" he rushing toward the closest ruffian and perform a downward slash. The ruffian raise his sword on time to block the attack but before the strength of both Robin and the weapon, the bronze sword broke in two and kill him in one hit. He look back at the trio, seem like Chrom and Frederick about to take down another ruffian holding an axe. On the other hand, Lissa was using her staff to heal any wounded civilians she saw.
'Wow, this weapon is so amazing. How did you get it?' Robin asked Ark.
[IT IS STILL EARLY TO BE AMAZE SIR. I STILL HAVE ONE MORE GIFT FOR YOU. JUST DO EXACTLY LIKE THE LAST TIME.]
Robin again reach his hand inside the void. This time he felt like he was grabbing something small, enough to fit in his hand. When he pull it out, this object is a yellow cassette-like with a hornet imprinted on it. The name of this thing is Lightning Hornet with the Ability: Thunder.
[THIS LITTLE THING HERE IS CALLED A PROGRISE KEY. WHEN YOU PRESS THE BUTTON, IT WILL GRANT YOU THE ABILITY IT HAS]
"Well then, let's give it a try" Robin said and press the button.
THUNDER!
Then from the Progrise Key electricity pull out and covered all around Robin. He look at his body.
" Wow, so how do I use this power?"
[JUST RAISE YOUR HAND TOWARD YOUR ENEMY AND SHOT THE ELECTRICITY. VERY SIMPLE]
"Ahhh!" Sudenly, Robin heard a familiar scream from the back. Look over his shoulder, he was horrified when he realized that Lissa was about to be attacked by a ruffian that hiding among the civilians. Chrom and Frederick also began to realize the situation, but because the distance was too far, even on the horse Frederick could not arrive in time.
While panicking, Robin subconsciously raised his hand. Then from his hand, an electric current was shot straight at the ruffian burning him alive. But because his focus was drift away from the battle, Robin failed to notice a ruffian was slowly approaching him from behind. And because of that, he got a slash right on his back. Surprised by that, he jerked his sword back and knocked down the ruffian, followed by an electric shot that killed him instantly.
Robin crouch down as the wound on his back started to drip blood. Seeing that, the Shepherds hurried run toward him.
"Don't worry, Robin. I will heal you right now." Lissa hastily used her staff to heal Robin. Then from the back, Robin can feel that the pain starting to fade away as the wound slowly closed up. As Robin standing back on his feet, Lissa jumped up and hugged his neck.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Robin. Thank you for protecting me."
"You really are strong Robin." Chrom pad Robin on his shoulder "Also what kind of magic that doesn't need a tome is that?"
"Yeah, I will explain it to you guys later"
For a moment, Robin took a quick glance over everyone's heads and was surprised that all of the names were now blue. Except for Lissa with a bit of pink around it.
'Um, Ark. What does that mean?'
[UMM, YOU KNOW, SIR? EVEN I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT IT]
Robin thinking about it for a little bit before brush it aside "I'm good to go, let's finish this quickly" He said as the group get into position.
Timeskip
About twenty minutes later, The group of ruffians was finally defeated, only two remain along with the leader.
"Still with us, Robin?" Chrom asked.
"Hmm... It's strange." Robin muttered "Here on the battlefield, I can... Well, I can "see" things."
"The enemy's strength, their weaponry, the flow of battle... I must have studied this somewhere."
This is clearly a lie. Because a few minutes, Ark said it's already scanning the area and display a map in front of Robin showing the Shepherds with blue dot and the ruffians as red dot. Well, technically that's not totally a lie at all since he can give orders to minimize the damage. The map was just there to help him.
"So, you're saying you can size up the enemy at a glance?"
"Yes, it would seem so. And perhaps more, if I apply myself..."
He quickly along with Chrom and Frederick finished the last two goons leaving only the brigand left.
"Are you all right, Robin?" Chrom checked, he touches Robin's shoulder as they both look at the brigand, sizing him up "Don't rush into danger."
"I'm fine, Chrom. Don't worry." Robin assured.
"You've lent us your strength, and that makes you a friend. Having an ally by my side gives me courage."
"Thank you, but...I think there's more to it than that."
"What do you mean?"
"I believe there's a tactical advantage to fighting side by side... It's fuzzy... Wait, yes: working in pairs improves strength, defense, speed... Yes, yes, I'm sure of it!" Robin affirmed "Chrom, let's defeat him together!"
Chrom looked at Robin then he nodded as both of them rushed toward the brigand. Chrom was the first to attack.
"Here, sheepy sheepy! Come to the slaughter!" The brigand taunting them.
Chrom rushed in and slash, the sword come connects makes a deep wound on the brigand, but that not enough to kill him. As the brigand regained his balance, he grip his axe tight and jumped up to attack Chrom.
"Oh no you don't" Robin quickly stand in front of Chrom, raise his sword high to block the axe and swatted it away, making them not receive any damage at all.
"I own you one, Robin" Chrom thanks him.
"Right, I'm gonna deal the final blow now" Robin said as he take out the Lightning Hornet Progrise Key. And like Ark instruct, he press the button again.
THUNDER!
The key announce, then he slotted it inside the sword.
PROGRISE KEY CONFIRMED
READY TO UTILIZE
HORNET'S ABILITY
Yellow energy begins to gather on the tip of the blade as it shines with electricity. Robin jumped up high and pressed the button near the grip of the blade.

He delivered a powerful downward slashes leaving yellow track behind. As the sword struck the brigand, electricity began to coursing all over his body, shocking him to the bones. Then from his body, a small explosion occurred.

LIGHTNING KABAN STRASH!
As the fire die down, what was left of the brigand was just a body that was almost burn to charred.
Chrom ran towards Robin, he looked at the body and facepalm "That was kinda overkill right there Robin."
Robin can only scratch his cheek while laughing sheepishly.
"Well, that's the end of that."
"Lucky for the town, we were close by." Lissa cheerfully said, standing a bit closer to Robin "But holy wow, Robin! You were incredible! Swords, sorcery, AND tactics! Is there anything you can't do? And don't even mention about all the flashy things you do at the end!"
"You're certainly no helpless victim, that much is for sure." Chrom jokingly chime in.
"Indeed. Perhaps you might even be capable of an explanation for how you came here?" well Frederick still be Frederick.
"I understand your skepticism, Sir Frederick. And I cannot explain why only some knowledge has returned to me. But please, believe me. I have shared all that I know."
[NOT ALL OF IT]
'Can you keep quiet when you need to be'
"You fought to save Ylissean lives. My heart says that's enough." Chrom said while lightly punch Robin on the chest.
"And your mind, milord? Will you not heed its counsel as well?"
"Frederick, the Shepherds could use someone with Robin's talents. We've brigands and unruly neighbors, all looking to bloody our soil. Would you really have us lose such an able tactician? Besides, I believe his/her story, odd as it might be."
"Th-thank you, Chrom."
"So how about it? Will you join us, Robin?"
"I would be honored."
Moment later, the group of four are now helping the local to cleaned up, they look back what remained of the town.
"Did you notice, milord? The brigands spoke with a Plegian accent."
"Plegian? What's that?" Robin asked.
"Plegia is Ylisse's westerly neighbor." Chrom explained "They send small bands into our territory, hoping to instigate a war."
"And it's the poor townsfolk who suffer! Totally innocent, and totally helpless..." Lissa clearly dislike this.
"They do have us, milady: Shepherds to protect the sheep. Do not be swept up in your anger. It will cloud your judgment." Frederick said.
"I know, know... Don't worry. I'll get used to all this." She said cheerfully, try to lighten up the mood.
"Milord, please!" a villager stand in front of the group, pleaded "You must stay the night! We are simple folk of simple means, but we would gladly toast your valor with a feast!"
"A most generous offer, sir, and no doubt your hospitality would be grand..." Frederick said and for some reason Robin feel a but coming up "But I'm afraid we must hurry back to Ylisstol."
"Dark meat only for me, medium well, and no salt in the soup. I simply-" Lissa stopped mid-way, slowly take in what Frederick just said "Wait, what?! We're not staying?! But, Frederick, it's nearly dark!"
"When night falls, we'll camp." He chuckled "Eat off the land, make our bed of twigs and the like... I believe you mentioned you would be "getting used to this"?"
"Frederick? Sometimes I hate you." Lissa pout while giving Frederick a hateful glare.
'I like looking at her like this'
[AH, MY MASTER]
'You shut up'
"You've quite the stern lieutenant there." Robin said.
"Yeah, well, "stern" is one name for it. I can think of a few others!"
"Frederick only smiles when he's about to bring down the axe." Chrom sighed.
"Duly noted." Robin sweat a little bit on his forehead.
*Ahem* Frederick cleared his throat, getting the group attention "You do realize I AM still present?"
"Oh, we realize." Chrom chuckled then soon everyone joined in.
"Milord remains as amusing as ever." Frederick grunted but still giving a straight face "Now then, shall we be going?"
"All right, all right. Ready to go, Robin? The capital isn't far."
"Yes, I'm ready" Robin said and followed them.
'Hey Ark. I'm sure this gonna be quite an adventure'
[INDEED SIR]
There we go for the first chapter, didn't think I could finish this in one day. Now I have a few A/N I need to give to you guys.
A/N 1: We see that Ark in here is just some friendly guys with no evil intention. At first I thought about bringing both Zea and Ark in but that gonna cause a mess inside Robin head so I have to change it at the last minute. So yeah, Ark will stay like this…for now.
A/N 2: The Zero-one will make a debut at a latter chapter but what I want to focus on is about the debut of each Progrize Keys, this is the connection I talk about in the Prologue. Can't wait when we reach Emmeryn chapter.
