"What in the hell are you doing?" Odda asked, folding their arms as they raised an eyebrow. Granfos glanced at them, then back at the metal pole in front of him.
"I'm gonna find out if what everyone says is true or not." he said, licking his lips. Odda shivered briskly at the cold winter air, pulling their coat tighter around them.
"And that is… what?" they asked. Granfos motioned to the pole.
"Everyone says your tongue will stick if you lick a metal pole, but I've seen people do it, and have it not stick, so I want to find out for myself." he said, cleaning a spot on the pole. Odda rolled their eyes.
"Seriously, that old saying? Does it really matter? What made you want to find that out of all things?" they asked warily as they watched their friend inch his tongue closer.
"Boredom. Now stay here, you're my witness!" Granfos said, moving closer to the pole.
"I'm only witnessing you embarrass yourself, and I am embarrassed for you…" Odda said, sighing.
"You're my best friend, you're supposed to deal with the second hand embarrassment." Granfos said, planting his tongue on the pole, and holding it there for a moment. Odda silently watched. Granfos tried to pull his tongue back, but it stuck.
"H-Hley!" Granfos exclaimed in surprise. Odda didn't visibly respond.
"At least you know now." they said, not too impressed, watching as Granfos struggled to get himself off the pole.
"Helf me!" Granfos insisted, pointing to this tongue. Odda rolled their eyes.
"I'll go get some warm water…" they said, turning. They went and obtained some water, gently pouring it on Granfos' tongue, which thankfully came off easily enough after that.
"Are you happy now?" Odda asked.
"Now I know!" Granfos said, smirking. Odda shook their head.
"We know something alright…" they murmured. Granfos raised an eyebrow.
"Without me, you'd have nothing better to do, so come with me while I try out other things I've heard!" Granfos said, dragging Odda off, much to the protest of the other. What are friends for?
