Prydz and Setskogen were both idling by the water tower on a slow day at the UHB Railway, bored out of their minds. They perked up a bit when Holand and Granfos came over, but raised an eyebrow when they both saw the mischievous looks on the two males' faces.
"What are you two up to…" Setskogen inquired in a suspicious tone. Holand and Granfos both did their best to look innocent.
"Us? Why absolutely nothing!" Holand said, trying to make a smoke Halo over him with his funnel. Granfos just gave a pure smile. Prydz and Setskogen looked at each other, then back to their boyfriends.
"Spill it…" Setskogen groaned, wanting to get whatever nonsense they had planned over with.
"We've just been wondering… which one of you can be more scary, if there was a situation that required it." Granfos said, giving a cheeky grin. Setskogen rolled her eyes, and Prydz raised an eyebrow.
"I don't want to be scary, I want to be Prydz." the latter said.
"And why should I try to be scary? Nothing would dare approach me anyway." Setskogen sniffed. Holand and Granfos looked at each other, grinning.
"Well, if neither of you think you can do it…" Holand started.
"Then we'll have to assume it's one of us, and keep trying to jumpscare you until you both try yourself!" Granfos finished. Setskogen's eye twitched.
"The only scary thing about either of you is how you two act sometimes." Setskogen retorted, looking away from them in indifference.
"And you just told us, so why would we be scared now that we know of your plan?" Prydz added. More grinning from the two males.
"Oh we won't do it now… we'll wait until you both have long since forgotten… could be a week… a month… a year…" Holand said, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"We could sneak up at any time… or we might never… you'll never know…" Granfos continued.
Suddenly, Setskogen's eyes narrowed, and she darted forward, snarling.
"The only thing I know is that you two are being immature and disrupting the peace and quiet I was enjoying! Now get out of here before I turn you both into paperweights!" she growled loudly. Both Granfos and Holand jumped slightly, not expecting her to suddenly move forward at them. Setskogen smirked slightly.
"There, and that's only a small example of just how scary I can be…" she said in a threatening tone, making everyone uneasy. Holand and Granfos exhaled, and then looked at Prydz, who suddenly felt put on the spot. She thought for a moment.
"Uhm… hold on!" she said, reversing to be hidden behind the main shed. Suddenly, she burst back out.
"Boo!" she exclaimed, coming to a stop before them. Granfos and Holand just looked at her, and Setskogen rolled her eyes.
"There, we both made an attempt. Now shooooo!" Setskogen insisted. Granfos and Holand conceded, agreeing that Setskogen was more scary than Prydz. Until…
"Hey guys!" Bingsfos said, coming over. "Caroline is here! She's come to visit!" he exclaimed, stopping next to Holand. Everyone was silent for a moment, before they heard a growl. They looked back to Prydz, who looked extremely upset. Her eyes had darkened, and she had a sneer on her face.
"Caroline… is here?" she growled, black smoke slithering from her funnel as her eyes flashed in anger. The three males reversed slightly.
"Uhm…" Bingsfos said, but faltered. Prydz' safety valve went off loudly as she lurched forward, steam blasting from her sides, black smoke billowing from her funnel in an angry flow.
"Get out of my way!" Prydz hissed, forcing the males back as she shot past, heading down the line. The remaining four engines looked at each other.
"Well…" Granfos said, exhaling.
"Maybe… Everyone can be scary, if the situation is right." Holand said, both of them watching after Prydz. They failed to hear Setskogen creeping up right behind them. Suddenly, she blasted her safety valve, letting out a snarl.
"Boo!" she shouted. Granfos, Holand, and Bingsfos all jumped, before frantically racing down the line in the direction Prydz had gone, not looking back. Setskogen smirked to herself as she settled back in to enjoy the silence.
"I'm the scariest one here… and they won't soon forget it." she said to herself, smiling.
