Packed hallways with teens milling in and out of the halls, posters adorned the concrete walls. It was a typical high school with typical high school drama.
If kids were mean than teens were savage, Luna Loud could testify to the fact. Right now the young aspiring musician was trying to lay low, underneath her purple hoodie Luna seethed, the aftermath of Luan's latest prank was just waiting to be seen. While Luna loved her sister, Luan made it hard sometimes.
Times like this Luna couldn't stand luan, taking into account the current situation. Luan was on a pranking spree at the moment, she'd put laxatives in Lori's coffee just this morning.
The sounds of crying and screaming could be heard throughout the house. She pelted Lincoln with water balloons containing rotten water, smashed Lana's face into a slice of rhubarb pie. Luna was Luan's victim of choice this time however.
Still seething luna took her spot in English class, her hood up covering her face.
The ancient teacher stalked her class before stopping to give Luna a hateful look, "No hoods in class ms Loud" snapped the teacher.
The class erupted in a series of laughing as Luna reveals her practically bald head, bits and pieces of ragged hair of varying length. Luna felt her face blush hotly, the room was cold and she wasn't used to having no hair. Hot tears stung at Luna's eyes, Luna and Luan were exceptionally close.
It hurt worse to think that Luan would do this to her, Luna can hear the class whispering around her. she was hurt and embarrassed, but most of all Luna was tired of Luans shingaigens. Gritting her teeth Luna decided that it was time to give Luan a taste of her own medicine, and Luna knew just the people to help.
Later that day all the loud kids except Luan gathered in Lori and Leni's room for an emergency siblings meeting. The bedroom was packed full, with a faint rancid smell emanating throughout room , Lori stood at the epicenter. The blonde clutched her stomach in pain, after a day of none stop diarrhea Lori was more than a little furious.
Leni's sat on the bed, early in the week luan put industrial glue on lenis sandles, they had to be cut off while Leni sobbed as they tore the soles of her feet.
Lynn draped herself over the floor looking board, lola yawned and lana picked at her ear wax. Lincoln sat uncertainly next to lucy and a now clean shave luna. Everyone was in the room except Luan.
"Sighing, I think you all know why you'r here, the Luan situation is taking a turn for the worse.
The siblings started mulling about the room each retailing some terrible prank luan had pulled on them, apparently she signed Lucy up for church camp, and mom and dad were making her go.
"The clown has got something coming", snarled lola.
"I still smell like dirty water and I've had like eight baths", exclaimed Lincoln.
"Look what she did to my fucking hair", Luna cried!
Nodding lori listened to her siblings complaints, luan had gone from annoying to just cruel. Lori was tired of it and so was luna, the rockers was the one to suggest the siblings meeting tonight.
Holding a hand out Lori silenced the whole room, several sets of eyes focused on the oldest loud sister.
Leni held Luna as the other girl continued to cry, " I've got an idea on how to handle the whole luan situation, if she wants to be a bully then I say we give her a taste of her own ,medicine"!
The room turned dead quiet, each sibling made eye contact. It was obvious what they had to do.
The house was unusually quite, Luan loud crept through the house on socked feet. Foot steps echoing throughout the empty house, when Luan first woke up from her nap to her surprise she found a note on the refrigerator. Apparently her parents were at a movie and Lori had taken everyone to the mall with the exception of Luan.
This didn't surprise the aspiring comedian however, with a twinge of regret Luan knew her siblings were getting tired of her constant pranks. It was all in fun though, Luan knew that recently her jokes had taken on a mean Air. Luan was desperate for her comedy career to finally take off, so she practiced whenever possible.
Her family was more often than not her unwilling victims. Being left home was a wake up call to Luan, it stung to know her family wanted time away from her. Maybe she got carried away sometimes but it was all in fun wasn't it?
The silent house had an eerie feel to it that put Luan on the defensive, Luan couldn't stand being in the house alone. The hairs on the back of luans neck stood up as the air crackled around her, luans heart beat at a Jack rabbit pace. The shadows filled the hallway, reaching for a switch to the girl's surprise when the lights stayed off. Did they lose power?
Crossing her arms around herself Luan wished Luna was here, the punk rocker was cool and calm in most situations. Luan winced as she thought about her latest prank, maybe cutting Lunas hair was in poor taste. Luan could still remember the pain on Leni's face as dad had to cut the older girls shoes off. A bolt of lightning flashed before Luans eye's, the profound feeling of being watched seemed to follow her. How she wished her siblings were here, she wanted Luna to call her a chicken for being so afraid.
Luan considered for not the first time giving up on pranking, she'd hate to ruin their relationship as a family and Luan knew she had a tendency to go medieval on her siblings.
Just as she was about to cross the landing towards downstairs, a white flash caught Luan's eye. Panicking the girl spun around, her feet unable to get any traction. The sensation of being air born, and the panic on Luna's face would stay with Luan forever. Her sisters and brother stood in shock by the stairs, Luna pulling a white bed sheet off her shoulders.
The impact of Luan landing on the bottom of the stairs was nothing compared to the sickening snap of the fourteen year olds neck, filled with pain Luan was aware of one of her eyes filling with blood. As her consciousness faded slowly Luan's siblings surrounded their fallen sisters, white faced.
Luna cried softly as the realization hit her, it was supposed to just be a joke. No one was supposed to get hurt. With her final moment of clarity Luan wished she could feel Luna's tears rainging down on her cheeks, and with that the girl known as Luan loud was no more.
