Disclaimer: I don't own dragonball z, and I don't think I ever will. I don't own the Little Leagues either, and I wouldn't want to because I don't care for baseball. However, I wouldn't mind owning dragonball z if the chance came up…
I also don't know why they make us write this disclaimer, because the only one who does own dragonball z is Akira Toriyama-san and he wouldn't submit stuff because it wouldn't be a fanfiction then, would it? See what happens when I start to think? Scary, ain't it?
Someone Who Cares - by megami_juhachigou
My back is up against the wall, Cell has me trapped. I wince and try to back up further, father away from the amoral, disgusting creature, but to no avail. I shut my eyes, preparing myself for my fate, and my life flashes before my eyes…
I am little, about three, maybe four years old. My blond pigtails flap in the wind along with my denim jumper as I race through the fields after a blue butterfly. My bare feet trip over a small rock and I stumble to the ground succumbing to my pain and crying large, salty tears until my father, brave and strong, comes to rescue me.
My father…
My father and I playing baseball in our spacious backyard. Im still barefoot, but I'm six now, hair cought in a baseball hat as I stand at home plate - a flat white rock - and warm up, ready to bat. I still cannot see my father's face for it is hidden in shadow like all memories of my parents. He readies himself and pitches to me, and I swing, hitting the ball high above my father's head.
Up, up, and away…
And I'm nine now, running around the bases in my first Little League championship game, because I hit a home run, and we won! My mother and father are in the bleachers cheering me on and my little brother too, my brother whom I still remember with his long dark hair and piercing, ice blue eyes.
Eyes…
My own eyes fill with tears as I leave to go to junior high school, a tall, proud, twelve-year-old. I am scared, now, my mother had home schooled me before.
My mother…
My mother driving me to the eighth grade dance, not asking any questions as my date and I sit in silence in the back seat. His hand slowly creeps towards mine and he squeezes it, nervously. His name is Jinya.
Jinya…
Jinya dumping me when I was sixteen, cheating on me with a red-haired slut. I'm broken. He had been my first real boyfriend.
Boyfriends…
I must have had fifty or so by the time I turned eighteen. I had a new one each week it seemed. It didn't matter. None of them cared. I had cared, once, but that was a long time ago.
I would sit by my window and wish upon a star that I would find someone, someone who cares, loves my for who I am, and who I had the power to become.
Someone like Kuririn…
I am eighteen when I get the call from the strange doctor, the chance to be young and beautiful, strong and immortal. I jump at the idea, not knowing what I was getting myself into.
And all I wanted was someone who cares…
I am eighteen…
Eighteen…
"Eighteen," Cell growled, liking the lips of his grotesque, frog-like face, "You're mine."
I open my eyes and catch a glimpse of Kuririn out of the corner of my sight. I open my mouth, wanting to say something, but not finding the words.
Cell approaches, lifting his snake-like tail and wishing it to form a bell shape. Before I can say a word, I am absorbed, and my world turns into darkness.
