Crying was not an option when it came to in front of her kids. She wanted them to believe that she was doing okay, that she was strong. But some night the empty space in the bed beside her was almost to much for her to bear, so it was then that her tears came.

On one such night, when the emptiness inside her overflowed, her sobs came louder then ever and she didn't really care. Her husband was gone, the reality finally had sunken in. He died a noble death, saving the world from some other evil creature. It had been the third time he had died, but the other two times he always came back, from those seven wonderful balls, the dragonballs. But alas, this time he did not want to come back, for he thought it was his fault he had caused the world so much terror. Always so nieve, never once thinkimg for himself. And she hated him for that. Because if he thought once about himself and the good of the family he would still be here.

She pounded her pillow with her fist until she burnt all her energy. Her sobs somewhat lessened, but not alot. She burried her head in her pillow in attempt to cover them, but that only made them grow.

"Mommy, are you okay?" a small voice asked at her beside.

"Yes I'm fine. Go back to bed Goten." she answered in a stern voice.

It was not everyday that her son disobeyed her, but sensing something was very wrong he stayed at her side until she finally quited down. "Whats wrong mommy?" he asked, jumping up to sit next to her.

ChiChi stared up at her youngest son, the son Goku never met. Seeing his stren face, with wisdom beyond his years in his eyes, she smiled. *So much like his father.* she thought. "I'm okay now Goten, thank you for staying with me. Do you want me to tuck you back into bed?"

He shook his head. "Do you want me to tuck you in, mommy?" he asked.

ChiChi considered this, and nodded. "Yes that would be nice." she layed down and he pulled the blankets up to her chin. "Thank you sweetie." she whispered and kissed his forhead and hugged him goodnight. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight mommy." he whispered and padded out of the room.

ChiChi watched him leave as fresh tears rushed to her eyes. But these were not tears of sorrow, but tears of happiness. She had never lost Goku. He was right here with her. She just didn't look in the right places.
