Star Trek Advanced
Rebirth of the Federation
By Admiral Goten
Chapter One
"We will arrive within the hour Admiral," reported Ensign Hugh.
"Understood," I replied.
"Admiral," said Hugh, "I would like to stay as one of your aids."
"Changed your mind huh?" I asked.
"I gave it some thought and decided that if you died because of Starfleet, I could not live anymore." Said Hugh.
"I never put in your request for a transfer anyway, don't worry about it." I replied smiling the best I could.
"Why not Sir?" Hugh asked me.
"Because I noticed you hadn't made up your mind when you told me you wanted a transfer." I said "And you didn't give me a good enough reason."
"I thought that is was good enough," said Hugh with a smile, "It took me a week to come up with."
"Well it wasn't good enough." I said. "Besides, I'm getting my own ship, would have been transferred under my command anyway."
"Well, I better go pack." said Hugh.
"You do that," I said, "And I'll get ready to go as well."
Right after Hugh left my quarters, I walked over to my closet and pulled out a computer disk. I looked at it and smiled. There was so much information on his disk that a starship could run herself, without any human help. My biggest accomplishment, the biggest accomplishment in the Federation since the development of the Cloak detector.
"Admiral Goten, please report to Transporter Room Three," came Ensign Hugh's voice.
"I'm on my way," I said after tapping my combadge.
As I walked down the corridor to the turbo lift I looked around the Akira Class ship. They were one of the best class ships in the fleet. But they would never match up compared to the ship I have designed and am going to build. There are few ships of the class left in the Federation, and would soon save it... in a manner of speaking.
"Are you ready?" asked Hugh standing on the Transporter Pad.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I said taking my place on the Transporter.
"Energize," said Hugh to the Transporter Chief.
After we rematerialized in the Transporter Room, we started toward our quarters. I had quarters on Deck Three and Hugh had his on Deck Four. As we walked to our rooms, we could see the frame of a Galaxy Class Starship. I could see that some of the Stardrive section had been disconnected from the saucer section. The clamps and battle bridge shell were already on the wire frame. They were putting on the outer hull on the saucer section.
"Admiral, shall I put your stuff in your room?" asked a passing Lieutenant.
"I'll go put them in there right now," I said turning and walking into my quarters.
