Konichiwa minna-san! ^^ I finally have new CCS fic for you guys! Actually, I had to write a short story for an English paper, and as I was reading it, I thought, Hey! I can just replace the names I made up with Eriol and Tomoyo's name and have another fic!! Muahha! Now that I've bored you with the story behind this, enjoy!

Hidden Tears

I'm not sure if I can do this... Daidouji Tomoyo thought to herself as her mother's funeral begun. She still wasn't quite clear on how she had gotten involved in singing for the ceremony. She could barely talk to anyone, let alone sing in front of all of them. Sighing, she glanced around the room for a familiar face, but couldn't find one. Most of the people at the funeral were from her mothers work and she hadn't really met any of them. She vaguely wondered if her father would show up, but then pushed the thought aside. She had never met him, so how could she ever recognize him? He had left her mother while she was an infant and had never bothered to contact them in the fifteen years he had vanished either. Now with her mother gone, she had no living family that she knew of and didn't have a thought as to what would happen to her after the funeral. She seated herself on the plush black chair near her and tried her hardest to keep from crying. Why should she care her mother had left her in this way?  Daidouji Tomoyo was never around much anyway. She always seemed to be caught up in her work and never spent much time with her daughter. How is it different now? She asked herself, not realizing she had shared the thought aloud.

But Daidouji-san, it is different." A young male voice commented from behind her. She turned her head towards the sound of the voice and her amethyst eyes met with grayish blue ones. The young man answering her rhetorical question was at a height of about 5'11, had dark black hair and was strangely familiar. After letting her study him for a few minutes, he revealed his identity.

Well, it was worth a shot, but I was pretty sure you wouldn't recognize a friend from sixth grade." He said with his trademark smile. This Tomoyo recognized immediately and snorted.

Acquaintance is more like it Hiiragizawa Eriol." She replied snidely." Besides, I thought you lived in England? Since when did you come back to Japan?" At this Eriol chuckled and took a seat in the chair next to hers.

It was getting boring." He told. She raised an eyebrow at him.

So you decided to use your time more wisely and come bug me here?" She asked sarcastically. He thought for a moment and then nodded.

"Yup, I think that was it." Tomoyo rolled her eyes.

"You have no life Hiiragizawa-kun." They sat in silence for a while before Eriol spoke again.

"So how is Sakura-san?" He asked. Tomoyo's eyes narrowed.

"Don't even start with me." She warned.

"It was just a simple question."

"A simple question that you're not allowed to ask."

"Why's that?" She ignored his last question and went back to her thinking.

Another long silence before Eriol broke it.

"Actually, the reason I came is that I heard of your mothers death. I'm sorry." He said sincerely.

"It's not that big of a deal." She tried shrugging it off. He studied her closely.

You may not show it, but you truly are upset about it." He told her. She couldn't deny it." It's alright to not admit to others that you are torn up about this, but don't lie to yourself." She looked at his thoughtful eyes and realized that he was right. She had a song to perform.

Excuse me for a minute Hiiragizawa-kun. She said with a smile, walking to the front of them room. His eyes followed her and smiled.

^^ So what'd ya think? It's a one shot, so no sequel, sorry! Well, anyways, as usual, R&R! See ya!
