Leaves falling from the trees brown golden covering the grass. Fall was upon them piper sat at the window. Her body molted to Leo's as he held her in his embrace. His head on her shoulder whispering in her ear. That he would pay a penny for her thoughts. Piper gave a little sigh. Leo tightend his arms around her. A little shiver went through piper. A lump coming to her throat. Her eyes were starting to glaze over. Her vision of the golden brown on the grass mixing as a watercolor painting! Clearing as the teardrop found its way down her cheek. Falling on to her lip. The taste salty on her tongue as she caught it. Leo didn't say anything. Knowing that piper would tell him what was making her so sad right now. Piper leaned more into Leo. Not really trusting her voice starting to speak. Asking questions. Was it fair for her to be so happy? So contend with her life? Laugh at anytime she wanted? Go out and have a good time? Birthdays? Weddings? Generally enjoying life? Leo took his hand from her stomach and wiped away a tear. Yes he told her she had the right to be happy and smile and celebrate birthdays and weddings and life.
Days had gotten better and better over the last few weeks and piper had began to deal with the death of her older sister. But sometimes there where days like these where she would question herself and life and the fairness of it all. Today had been a good day she had laughed and had fun. Playing with the new neighbors kids that had moved in. little Suzy and Simon. She had rolled in the grass and the leaves had chased them around pouring the leaves over the kids who had screamed in delight. Overjoyed an adult was playing games with them. She had walked in to the house. Her cheeks red form the wind blowing across it. Her hair tangled a few leaves still stuck in them. Her eyes glazing from sheer happiness. Running up to Leo hugging and kissing him telling him how much she couldn't wait for them to have two just like those two out there for them selves. Then turning around to go for round two.
But then the evening came and after her shower! Her cheeks glowing red again this time form scrubbing the dirt off of it. Her hair tangled and still wet! Sitting on the bed with her towel looking at the picture of her older sister on her dresser. Walking over to the window and sitting with her husband. So very happy yet so very sad. Looking at the back yard. Where she had played and laughed a few hours ago. And had even for a few minutes had forgotten about prue. The guilt now setting in she leaned more into Leo. Asking him these questions. Leo comforting her telling her it is okay to be happy and to enjoy life. Leo loving her through her mood swings over the last few weeks. Another tear creeps down her cheek. Piper makes a decision. Yes she could be happy and enjoy her life. Her older sister would want her too! And just because she didn't think of her for twenty-four hours a day anymore didn't mean she didn't love her any less.
The end
