Standing at the shoreline

Standing at the shoreline. Her feet getting wet much like her cheeks. The salty air mixing with the salty tears. Piper looks at the horizon. A sunset more beautiful then she had ever seen before. The orange mixed just right with the yellow and red. The ocean looked like it was on fire. Calm and serene. The waves slowly hitting her feet! White particles of sand mixed with her auburn hair. Whipping in the wind like a flag.

Thought going through her head. As little crabs chased each other back to the bottom of the sea. How long had she been standing here? Dreaming of days gone by. And dreaming of days yet to come. Dreaming of loved ones gone. And dreaming of the new ones that had entered her life. Looking for the peace and innocents she had know as a child. Longing for the freedom she had known for a while.

But now here standing on the beach as an adult! The memories where fading and replaced with ones she knew she would love. With a heavy heart she bid them farewell

For she knew she had to let them go. She had to move on to time up ahead. To get things ready and be prepared. It wasn't going to be easy. For nothing ever really was.

So slowly she turned and looked at the dunes. Wiping the tears. And putting on a smile. One hand on her belly! Already a little swollen. Proudly searching for her husband up ahead. The life she was leading was all she ever wanted. A husband to love and a child on its way!

One more look at the ocean. The sun already set. One hand of her husband intertwined strongly with hers. The tears that where coming. No longer of sadness these where the ones for memories to come.

The end
