A figure dashed down a long alleyway, seeming to blend with the shadows.
These alleys were empty of both people and litter. He was in the good side of town; a place he was not often summoned.
Stopping beneath a building, he looked many stories up.
There she was, standing on the railing of a balcony, poised between jumping and returning to the safety of her room. A pristine white night gown drifted about he ankles. Frigid gusts of wind pushed against her, playing with raven curls. Haunted emerald eyes stared blankly out at the city. Though it was cold, nearly February, the only thing that told of the chill she felt was a soft flush that coloured he pale cheeks.
/What could make one so young and beautiful want to end it all/ he wondered idly. He had long ago become immune to the tragedy that would sometimes come with the situation.
As if to answer his unspoken question their came a vision. An image of this young girl sitting next to a hospital bed, clutching the hand of the person who lay there.
The person in the bed, a girl with short red curls and expressive blue-grey eyes, was wheezing as she tried to sit up. The dark haired girl pushed her back down and began to berate her.
The vision faded away to be replaced by another. It was again the two girls in the hospital, but this time something was different. He could almost smell the bitter scent of death in the air.
The dark haired girl was weeping as her red-haired companion told her calmly that it was time for her to be leaving. She held the other girls hand as she drifted into a seemingly peaceful slumber.
He could easily see the soul of the young girl rise from her body that lay sickly on the bed. But the other girl, being mortal, could not. She screeched in agony as the monitors that had been hooked up to her friend began to simultaneously go off.
If she had have seen the beautiful angel that met the other in death, she would not have reacted so. But, again, she was but a mortal.
He smiled briefly at the cobalt eyed angel before the image faded again and he was back in the alleyway.
There were now tears streaming sown the girls cheeks. //I want to die// he heard her think. //I cannot live without her// She jumped, her long night gown trailing out behind her, seeming to almost fly.
He caught her soul before her body had even made impact with the ground. In reality she had died months ago. She had died with her love.
He set her down on the ground. She stared up at him, her golden-flecked eyes wide and confused.
But there was no time for questions or words, for the bounding spirit of a redhaired teen appeared and glomped onto the girl before him.
"Kaosu-chan!" she squealed. "I've missed you!"
"Su..." Kaosu whispered as they faded away.
He smiled sadly. //She's happy now, but her family will grieve dearly for the loss of such a beautiful young girl//
He jumped as he felt a pair of strong arms rap themselves around his shoulders. He melted into the embrace as he recognised the familiar sent of the angel of death.
"They will be happy," he whispered to the other immortal.
"Hai, Duo," answered the other planting a soft kiss on the nap of his neck. "Ai shiteru."
"I love you too Heero."

Shade: This is kinda disturbing compaired to my other fics. I think I have to explain something. Duo was a dark angel of death. He pretty much met the scuicide cases. While Heero was a light angel of death. He met the natural and accidental cases.
Also this fic is dedicated to my best friend, DragonSoul, whom if ever died part of myself would sie aswell.
