Crestfallen

Victor Krum sat idly in his Durmstang dormitory thinking of his love.
"Herm-own-ninny..." He spoke her name under his breath. He wished she was there with him, when everything he knew was falling apart.

"Who am I
To need you when I'm down..."

Soon he'd go to Hogwarts.
'Theen,' Victor thought to himself, 'I shaul see for myselv. '
Because, the fact remained, he couldn't believe it now. It was too painful an image to summon. Hermione, his angel, hand-in-hand with that redhead, that Ron Weasley!

"And where are you
When I need you around..."

Why hadn't Hermione come to visit him over break? Krum pondered this mournfully as he sailed to Hogwarts, his heart skiping every other beat. Which was when the thought stuck him, the worst thought of all. What would he do if it was true?

"And all I ask you
Is for another chance
Another way around you
To live by circustance..."

As the ship arose from the watery depths Victor did not wait until it docked, he jumped out and swam to shore. Once there he ran, soaking wet to the school. It was midday so he knew Hermoine would be in the Great Hall for "lunch".

"And once again..."

Victor burst the doors open, and every pair of eyes were on him, except the two that mattered and the two he wanted to gauge out. Ron and Hermoine were gazing into each others eyes and speaking in hushed voices to each other. Victor's heart crushed like the ice atop a lake melting from summer's rays.

"Who am I
To need you now
To Ask you Why
To tell you no..."

Three silver tears found their way onto Victors already uninviting face. It was the first time since his mother had died that he had cried a single tear.

"To deserve your love
And sympathy..."

He left the hall with but one word, whispered sweetly under his breath.
"Her-my-owe-knee..."

"You were never meant
To belong to me."

The End (or is it?!)

Please review, it'll make my day! :)
