Ode to the Woodlanders

There is no creature

like the otter

who shoots like an arrow

through the water

Every mole can dig a hole

and would never hurt

another soul

A hedgehog can roll

into a spikey ball

and always brews the best

refreshments of them all

And don't forget

those arguing shrews

but when they're on boats

they make great crews

Also the scoffing hare

fatter than the rest

the fruit trees wouldn't be bare

if it weren't for that tubby pest.

The great and kind mouse

lives with other woodland creature

in the humongous redstone house

where the Brothers and Sisters are teachers

at last the fearless badger

but of course never least

for countless, countless ages

they have been warrior beasts
