Rk.Day One.
"Well, Zell, it's been fun," Squall said as he passed a box to Zell, who then put it into a car.
"Yeah, man. Well, anyway, 'Commander's Little Sidekick' doesn't get too many girls, so this is probably a good thing..." Zell replied. He quickly entered the driver's seat to the car and started it.
"You will remember to pass us the phone number to your dorm, right?" Squall asked.
"Sure, as soon as it's hooked up..." Zell replied. "I'll see you guys later; Mom's probably waiting for me..." Zell started the car and headed onto the nearest road.
"Wow, I can't believe this. Out of all the students at Garden, I was accepted to the College of Trabia. I hear this school's got one of the best quality-of-life ratios in the country, the facilities are perfect for my learning ability…and that one really kick-ass band The Mudslingers got their start there to boot!" Zell thought. "Only problem is the time I'll have to go…Eh, I'll just stop at the local Quick Stop to jolt me…" Zell found the nearest convienence store and pulled in.
"Hmmm…that garbage pail of soda looks like it'll work well…Ooh, and it'll fit in my cup! Excellent..." Zell thought. "Excuse me, miss?" he asked the clerk. "Where are those cups that are advertised on the sign?"
"Oh, I'm sorry sir. Those cups aren't in yet…We have the sign up, but the cups arrive this afternoon if you want to wait…" the clerk replied.
"I can't wait…I'm leaving today…I need to have my caffeine fix!" Zell replied.
"Well, somebody should try NOT to get the Mountain Dew…" the clerk replied.
"Geez…lousy people trying to butt into my business…caffeine is good for me and makes me speed up…" Zell muttered to himself as he put huge amounts of Mountain Dew in the highest size that would fit in his cup holder. "There…now I can ride…" Zell paid the cashier, left the store, and headed to his mother's house.
"I'm packed and ready to go, Mom…" Zell replied.
"MY BABY'S LEAVING ME! Nooo…." His mother replied.
"Mom, I've been gone for most of my time here at Garden. It's not like you haven't gotten the chance to be used to my leaving…" Zell replied.
"It still hurts…I mean, if you're gone…I'm OLD!!!" Zell's mother cried.
"Mom. You adopted me. It doesn't mean you're necessarily old because of that." Zell replied.
"You'll understand when YOU have a child, and they leave home…" Zell's mother replied.
"Okay…let's just head off…" The two headed off towards the college. After a long and mostly boring car ride that really doesn't serve too much to the story with the possible exception of making the story really long, they touched down on the college's exit.
"Now, you can't get in too early, so I'm renting us a room for the night over at this hotel…" Zell's mother said. The two headed into the lobby of the hotel.
"Okay, how many people?" the concierge asked.
"Two…" Zell's mother asked.
"And that'll be for…the whole night?"
"A-hem…that's my SON we're talking about here!" Zell's mother replied indignantly.
"Don't worry…we don't tell anyone about your business…Just do your thing…" the concierge replied. Zell's mother got the keys and headed off.
"Why did we get a room here, anyways?" Zell's mother asked.
"Because you screwed up, didn't book in advance, and this dive's the only place that'd have us?" Zell replied.
"Shut up, Know-it-All…" Zell's mother replied.
"HEY! Only my friends can call me that…" Zell exclaimed. The two headed back to their room and headed for bed.
