This short fic was inspired by a book. Soon, you'll know what book.
The X-files and the characters belong to Chris Carter.
*Ring*, *Ring* The phone went.
'What kind of idiot would be calling at three in the morning?' Dana Scully thought, crawling out of bed to answer the damn
machine.
"Hey Sculy, it's me, Mulder"
'Of course.' She thought, before answering groggily with: "Yes. What is it?"
"I've finally found it!"
"What?"
"The thing I was looking for all my life, the TRUTH!" Mulder was obviously very excited.
"Are you sure it's not one of those illegal videotapes that turn out to be false and we practically get killed?"
"Of course. It's not a even videotape. Look, I know it's crazy to call at three in the morning, but I just had to share this
news with someone. I mean, my quest is finally completed."
"I'm sure it is, but could you wait explaining 'till morning, at work?" 'When I'm actually awake' She added in her mind.
"Oh. Alright, see you then." Mulder hung up. He couldn't help but grin. After all those long years of hard work, he had
finally gotten what he wanted. The Truth, with a capital T. He looked at the object of his happiness on the table.
A small package, already unwrapped, revealed to be a book. Looking closer, the cover showed a group of people, some writing,
some talking, and some threatening someone. And one person, writing it all down. Underneath the drawing, there was the title.
The title was: The Truth. By Terry Pratchett. In a little silver banner underneath the name it said: The 25th Discworld novel.
Yeah, that's it. Weird, don't you think? But the first I read the book,I knew I would do something like this with it. And now I did it.
