Though he couldn't hear anything, Harry could tell that the small, chocolate, beret-wearing figure in his hand was shouting something unkind and its rude and rather graphic hand gestures did help explain some of the broader points it was trying to make.

"Go on" said Ron. "Bite its legs off"

Harry just looked at him.

"You're supposed to eat it. But if you want, I suppose you could bite its head off first. Just don't bite it in the middle – you'll damage the card."

Taking a deep breath, Harry bit the legs off at the knees. The small figure gave a huge, silent scream and through a bubbling mass of raspberry cream, disgorged what looked like a small scroll.

Ron caught it as it fell to the floor of their compartment. Unrolling it, he snorted in disgust "Gates the Grabby. Got loads of him. Here you go Harry. You can start collecting them. Have another?" Ron tossed him a small figure clutching a wine bottle.

In a moment the small fists stopped their tickle-like pounding on his cheeks as Harry crunched into the cracker-filled head. While using the tip of his tongue to hold the card in the body, Harry sucked out the strawberry-cream filling, feeling the small chocolate body shrivel in his grasp. Could any other candy be as good as Chocolate Frogs he wondered.

(Frog is an unkind nickname for the French)
