Author's Note: This started as an English assignment…but, thankfully, it got better. I had to write a poem that describes a "gold" person, meaning someone who judges by looks alone, who is greedy, etc. I immediately thought of dear old Draco. And look what my assignment has become…

.

Let all that Glitters be Gold

Look at me floating
In my sudsy bath of wealth
Cunning Slytherin that I am
Full of strength and stealth.

A rich, distinguished man, my father
Quite fortunately, I trust.
For the broomsticks he bought my Quidditch team
Leave others in the dust.

My blood is pure, no doubt of that
I'm surely higher class
Than those with Muggle-tainted lineage
Those scum I far surpass.

And how I laugh…
Ashamed should be those who live in poverty!
How have they sunk so low?
To wear such tattered robes and hats
No dignity they uphold.

Some may deem me prejudiced and cruel
But I am not one with whom to toy
For, ultimately, the entire world shall know
That I am Draco Malfoy!
