At daybreak, December 23rd 2001, happiness swept over me as the next day to spend with him arose. The room was still unstirring, as most had been up late into the night, as we had our expected Monday off, with Christmas break started, few had stayed over the vacation, and many had already left this morning. Slipping out of the night dress I had been wearing the previous night, I Re-dressed in my Robes silently, and crept out the door and down to the Gyffindor common room. The morning dew had formed upon the windowsill on the east wall, and you could clearly see the Quidditch field. I had grabbed a book before my decent to the common room, Great Wizards and Witches of the 13th Century Although I didn't feel like reading, the book helped to pass the seemingly impossible amount of time before anyone had joined me. As I gazed at a picture of Gregory Leron, A thump from above indicated that someone had awoken. I anticipated it was Harry, because Ron always was a heavy sleeper, but nonetheless waited.

"Oy, What a night the last was." I thought. There had been a small Griffindor party, as I'm sure all the other houses had, after the main Christmas ball. Although there had been multiple warnings from Hogwarts faculty, we were loud late into the night. Harry had been up later than I, so I naturally assumed he was still asleep. And no one else from Griffindor decided to stay. After rising from the bed and rushing through a hurried shower, I took the stairs by twos down to the common room.

I saw Ron coming down the stairs, Surprised by the Suddenness he emerged from the staircase with. "Hi Ron" I casually said, "Hullo Hermione, Up early this morning I see." Was my reply as he sat on the chair next to mine, but not before placing a small kiss on my nose. We had been friends since becoming Hogwarts first years, and now were just now becoming more than that.
