The Flip Side of the Coin

Rihoe sighed softly and contentedly, laying her head on Shido's shoulder, "Mr. Shido, did you love any one before you became a vampire?"

She was taken aback by the low growl she got in response, "I. DO. NOT. REMEBER!!!" Shido glared at the wide-eyed vampire, " don't you get it? I don't remember and it doesn't matter any more! It's all because of Cain. It's because of Cain that I have to put up with you! I never should have given you eternity! Never!" He screamed at the end and stalked out of the room.

Rihoe watched his retreating figure flee the comfort of their small apartment and broke into tears. Her sobs racked her body, his words hitting her like scalding hot water, burning her heart and soul. "Mr. Shido!!" The young vampire cried, she soon resolved to find him. //Maybe he really didn't think that way... He was only angry!// Rihoe tried to convince herself as she ran out, trying to pursue him to discover the truth.

The night was cloudy, and no one was out, the air seemed heavy with sorrow and every sound seemed muffled, she ran, her breathing harsh, from the small apartment to the detective agency and ran into the main office.

Yayoi and Shido were slightly startled by her appearance. Shido narrowed his eyes in irritancy, pushing his anger towards her to another level since Rihoe interrupted their intimate time together.

"Rihoe, what's wrong?" Yayoi asked, her voice showing annoyance also. Rihoe's eyes were bloodshot and her face was stained with tears, eyes wide. "It. it isn't true.."

Shido growled, "get out of here, and I don't ever want to see your face again." His face a mask of pure hatred, disgust and some thing else; his arms tight around Yayoi.

Rihoe gasped and took a couple stumbling steps back, shaking her head. "Why Mr. Shido... Why?!" She cried before turning away and running out the door. Yayoi watched her leave before turning back to Shido, a slight smile playing on her glossy red lips. "A bit angry, aren't we?"

Shido smirked, "she got far to annoying." He pushed his lips against hers demandingly. Yayoi pulled back, smiling at the lipstick that came off onto his own lips. "That's right, you can relieve all your tension unto me..." Shido laughed darkly and proceeded to do so.

Rihoe shook as she ran into the park, and before she knew it, she was in front of her parents graves. She hit her fists against the concrete sadly, "no.. why!? why!?! Why Mr. Shido, why!?!"

The brown-haired girl's tears dropped onto the ground, making small puddles as she shook. She continued to cry out to no one, grief overcoming her in her desperate cries. As if some mighty god had run a huge blade across the surface of the clouds then split open and the rain that had held back came down in torrents. Drenched totally Rihoe held herself and began to rock back and forth, her tears mixing with the rain. Her sobs still rang loudly. They began to subside though, the crying exhausting her mentally and physically causing her to fall unconscious at the base of her parents' graves.

In the shadows some thing was watching...
