Disclaimer: Of course, I don't own Gilmore Girls in any way, shape or form. If I did, I would be really, really happy.
I'll probably continue the story if enough people respond to it. So, I hop you enjoy.
Rory Gilmore knew something was up when she didn't wake up to the sound of coffee being made and her mother stumbling around the kitchen. She turned over and glanced at the clock. "Oh my God, oh my god, Oh my god!", she gasped as she sprang out of bed. 8:57! She ran out of her room and yelled,"Mom, mom!", but got no reply. Oh, don't tell me she didn't know I overslept, she groaned inwardly.
Rory made a grab for the phone and wildly dialed her mom's cell phone number. Her mom finally picked up after a dozen endless rings."Mom, mom I need your help!", Rory cried.
"Sweetie, oh My god, are you sick? I'll pick you up right away jus...",
"No mom, I'm not sick I..."
"Well, what's wrong, I can't come out to school now if it's nothing serious, because-"
"No, mom, I'm not at school!", Rory whimpered.
Lorelai was silent for a few seconds(letting Rory know she hadn't had her recommended 12 cups of coffee yet) and finally screeched," You're not in the hospital?! Oh, no, please don't be-"
"Mooom," Rory moaned," I overslept! I missed my bus!"
Lorelai was silent again, and then, to Rory's amazement, she started laughing almost hysterically.
"Mom?"
"Sorry, Hun," Lorelai managed between laughs," but, hee hee, I can't believe you were actually late for the first time in your life! Perfectly punctually Rory Gilmore was lay-ate," she singsonged.
"Mom, this isn't the time," Rory said impatiently." Please, dome home and take me to school."
Lorelai giggled and said," Sure,Rory. Just be on time!"
Rory hung up and was about to get dressed when the phone rang again. Thinking it was her mom, she picked it up and yelled," What now!"
She was surprised and slightly mortified when a male voice laughed at her. "Sorry to disturb you," Dean laughed," I just wanted to see where you were."
Rory blushed and mumbled," Sorry, I overslept."
"Yeah, I figured. I waited at the bus stop for you and I was worried when you never showed up."
Rory smiled and said," That's sweet of you-wait, how are you calling me?"
Dean laughed again." I told my teacher I was going to the bathroom and made a detour be the pay phones."
Rory got a sweet, tingly feeling all over. Ah, that's so sweet, she thought giddily.
"Listen, I better hurry up, or my teacher is going to send the dogs after me. I just wanted to ask you something."
"Sure, what is it?"
"Well, I've told my mom so much about you that she wants to meet you for herself. She invited you over to dinner tonight understand if you've got other things to do, though." he said quickly.
"No, that's fine, I guess. I would really like to have dinner at your house", Rory answered.
" Well, if your sure...," Dean heisted," then dinner is at seven."
"Okay, bye." Rory hung up with Dean. She couldn't get over how sweet Dean was. She was also happy to be meeting Dean's parents...meeting Dean's parents...
Suddenly, she felt as if a thunderbolt had struck her. Oh, God, she thought with horror,I'll be meeting his parents! Doubts started to creep up on her. What if they don't like me... what if I don't like them... What if...?! The phone's rings interrupted her very confused thoughts. She snachted it and yelped," Hello?!"
"Wow, honey, it's me, I'm on my way," Lorelai chirped.
"Mom, I have a problem."
"What, babe?"
"I'm meeting Dean's parents tonight."
"Well...oh. Oh, that's...not too good."
