Chapter 1-In Which Hermione Makes a Mistake
"Today, class," chirped Hogwarts Charms teacher Professor Flitwick, "we will learn a teleportation spell."
Hermione Granger could hardly contain her excitement. "I've been waiting ever so long to do this!" she whispered to her friends Ron Weasley and Harry Potter.
"Now don't get too exited, Miss Granger, "We're only going to do simple teleportation spells this class. Next week, we'll get to human teleportation. Now, get into groups of three at each table." The professor paused as each student clamored to the tables set up around the classroom. "There should be a feather and a small brass weight at each. To do the spell: Point your wand at the object you wish to teleport and concentrate on where you wish to send it. Say the words Boreas zephyrus. Make sure you concentrate on the opposite end of the table.
Hermione didn't listen to anything past the incantation. She heard the words Boreas zephyrus and immediately a vision of a cool, mossy forest came to her mind.
"Zephyrus boreas," she muttered. Which of course, was wrong.
1 WHOOOOSH
Hermione, Harry, and Ron landed with a plop on soft green moss.
"What did you do, Hermione?" said Ron.
"Hermione! You've teleported us to the Forbidden Forest!"
"This isn't the Forbidden Forest! The forbidden forest doesn't have moss in it! Honestly, when are you two going to read Hogwarts, A History?"
"Really Hermione, is that what you do with your spare time? Read that book?"
"Well, if it isn't the Forbidden Forest, then where are we?" asked Harry loudly; mostly to stop Ron and Hermione's bickering.
"You are in the Enchanted Forest. Who are you and what are doing here?" asked a female voice. All three Hogwarts students spun around to see an older girl with flaming red hair in simple work clothes addressing them.
"Uh, I'm Hermione Granger."
"Harry Potter."
"R-ro.." Ron started to say, but the girl cut him off.
"Hey, I know who you are!"
Harry cringed. Here it comes, he thought.
"You're my little brother Orrin! Gosh, I can't believe how much you've grown since I ran away!"
"My name's not Orrin! I'm Ron Weasley!"
"Oh.well I'm Shiara, princess of Kazul, the King of Dragons."
"Dragons have Kings?" said Hermione, dumbfounded.
"She doesn't know everything! Call the Daily Prophet, Harry!" muttered Ron.
"Well, yes. There's got to be some sort of organization, or who knows what the wizards would do."
"There's.wizards here? And witches?"
"Yeah. I'm a fire-witch. Like your friend there.Ron, is it? And there's Morwen, she's a witch. Telemain is a magician."
"I am not a witch!" cried Ron. "I'm a wizard!"
"Oh, bother." Shiara said, "Argelfraster." She stared pointedly at Ron, as if waiting for something to happen. "What?! It's not working! Oh, dear I must tell Telemain about this." Shiara ran away quite quickly.
"What's not working?" Hermione called after her. Shiara didn't even look back.
