Title: Sweet Heart
Author: Flicker (PS this takes place one year after the first adventure)
"Over here, Mimi," Koushiro called over the noisy din of the school cafeteria.
Mimi weaved her way through the crowd, "Thanks for saving me a seat, Koushiro, you're such a
sweet heart." She sat down and opened up her lunch bag, "Yuck. Carrots and celery. What did you
get?"
"Peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Wanna trade?" Koushiro pulled it out as Taichi came and sat
down next to him.
"Thanks," Mimi smiled in relief. "What a dear, Koushiro."
Taichi started sniggering. "Mimi and Koushiro, sitting in a tree..." he began to chant.
"Ewwwww!" Mimi squealed. "Koushiro and I are just friends."
"Sure, you are," Taichi rolled his eyes.
***************
Koushiro was walking home with Yamato after school. Yamato usually walked with Taichi, but they
had gotton into a fight recently about something or other. In fact, nobody ever knew what they
faught about. Koushiro suspected they faught for the heck of it.
Anyway, before I get off track, Koushiro and Yamato were walking home. Those two kind of shared
a unique bond, having found their crests together. Koushiro felt he could tell him anything. So,
Koushiro did.
"Hey, Yamato?" he said quietly. Yamato nodded almost imperceptively. Koushiro continued, "I
think I have a crush on Mimi."
Yamato nodded again, "That's good."
"Why?"
"I heard throught the grapevine, you know Mimi to Sora to Taichi to me, that Mimi thinks you're
an 'absolute sweet heart'," Yamato snickered.
Koushiro shook his head, "That doesn't mean anything. Mimi probably wants a bad boy like you or
some jock like Taichi. She just thinks I'm nice for, what did she call me again? A computer geek
pipsqueak?"
Yamato laughed, "You just keep thinking that. It's not my problem." Yamato glanced at him
snidely though, "You know if you don't ask her out, I'm going to have to ask her out for you?"
"You wouldn't," Koushiro gasped.
Yamato shrugged and laughed.
*****************
There was a knock on Mimi's door that night. She opened it. "Oh hello, Koushiro."
"Hey, Mimi," he shoved some flowers into her hands, "These are for you."
She beamed, "You're such a sweet heart."
"Mimi, let's not beat around the bush," Koushiro started. "I like you, and I've heard you like
me, so do you wanna go out sometime?" he said this all very quick. *Great Koushiro, way to
impress the ladies.*
Mimi's face broke out into a huge smile, "I'd love too."
"Prodigious," Koushiro yelled. "Where wouuu...."
**************
"Rise and shine, Koushiro, sweet heart," Koushiro blinked open his eyes as his wife shook him
awake. He'd had that dream again. That dream of the day that started it all.
"I made eggs with rice, your favorite," his wife was already heading down the stairs. "Are you
going to scadaddle down here or should I throw them out?"
Koushiro laughed, "Coming, Mimi."
