Author's Note: I was having trouble sleeping the other night, and as I'd seen an X-files episode earlier in the day, Mulder and Scully were on my mind. It's very short, but it amused me. Maybe I'm the only one... but hey, that's what reviews are for. Let me know.
Disclaimer: They aren't mine. Neither is 'O Captain My Captain', which is the poem Mulder was referring to. I don't remember who did write it, but it wasn't me.

"Hey Scully, could we..."
"No."
"Why not?"
"I don't want to this time."
"Please?"
"No."
A few minutes passed.
"Hey Scully...."
"No."
A few more minutes passed.
"Oh partner, my partner-"
"Parodies of poems won't help. Particularly that one. I don't like the implications."
"Sorry. But about the-"
"No."
"Come on, why not?"
"I told you. Because I don't want to."
"Why not?"
"I just don't. Whenever you want to, I just go along with it. Not this time."
"You do not."
"Yes, I do."
"No you don't."
"I'm not going to argue with you, Mulder. The answer is still no."
After several additional minutes:
"Scully..."
"I gave it to you last time you asked. No."
"But-"
"No!"
A number of minutes later:
"Please?"
"What did I tell you last time? No."
"But Scully..."
"Mulder, go to sleep."
"I'm not tired."
"Well, I am."
"All the more reason to give it to me!"
"I am not giving you the window seat, Mulder, and that's my final answer! Good night!"
