Author's notes: review please. Be gentle though. I've got a low self-esteem issue currently. Don't ask, you don't want to know.
"Hey Mary. Long time no see. Did you miss me?" Tristan sauntered up behind Rory and leaned up against the locker next to her.
"Tristan? You're back? I though you were stuck at military school for the rest of the year at least. " Rory turned and gave him a considering look.
"I was going to be, but my grandpa sprung me. So, I'm back." He turned, started to walk away, paused. "I got your letters. I meant to write back but I wasn't allowed to. Parental orders. So, thanks. They meant a lot to me."
"Oh. Hey, what's your first class?" Rory walked up next to him.
"Lit. with Watkins. You?"
"Same."
"Hmm. I'll see you in class then." He walked away. Rory just stood there watching.
3 Months later… after school…
"Tristan, wait up!" Rory hurriedly closed her locker door and ran to catch up with Tristan.
"Oh, hey Rory. I didn't see you. Sorry 'bout that." He turned and waited for her to catch up.
"You know you're one of my best friends right?" he gave her a weird look.
"I am?" She nodded vigorously. "Ok, then I do, I guess."
"Well, would you do me a huge favor? Actually, two huge favors?"
"Depends. If one of them involves nudity, then yes." He smirked.
Rory smacked him upside the head. "Tristan!"
"What?"
"Grrr. Anyway. I need you to come to dinner at my grandmother's tonight. And to tell her that you're my boyfriend…" she trailed off at the look of shock on his face.
"You want me to pretend that I'm your boyfriend?"
"Well, it's either that or Grandma try's to set me up with this guy she says is 'very promising and of good social standing.' Save me!" she pleaded.
"I guess I could do that…"
"Oh, yeah, and you misinterpreted part of what I said." Rory slowly backed Tristan up against the wall.
"What part?"
"Pretending. If you still want, you could be telling her the absolute truth."
"Your caffeine just kicked in didn't it?"
"Yes, but that's not the point." She put her arms around his neck and pulled his lips down to meet hers. She indulged in a long, slow kiss that left Tristan completely shell-shocked.
It took a few minutes but Tristan did eventually recover and grinned down at her. "Why, Mary, I always knew you wanted me."
"Yep. So are you interested?" she slowly let go of him and started to back off a few feet. He refused to move his arms, which had made it around her waist during the kiss.
"Naturally I am. I've only wanted you since your first day here." He leaned down and gave her another quick kiss. "Give you a ride home?"
"Sure. I did miss my bus for you after all." They walked out of the building, neither letting go.
Author's notes: I've always wanted to do that to someone! Ok, not always but since about last February and only to this one particular guy… anyway, REVIEW please!!!!
