I am NOT a traitor. I have never been a traitor. Those thoughts were
never even in my head. I know why I did what I did. I can't believe the
fans would turn on me like that. It kinda hurts, you know. It kinda hurts
to walk down that ramp and see all those signs that say "Angle Sold Out"
and "Angle's A Traitor." What the hell would they know about what I did,
huh? What would they know.
I have a plan. Did you know that? I have a plan and part of that plan is making it seem like the Alliance is my new team. I have to make everyone believe that I've really turned my back on the WWF. That's why I had to cost 'Taker his match. If I hadn't done that, then Shane and Stephie would have doubted me. They wouldn't have been sure that I was totally on their side. It was really tough. Really tough to beat on 'Taker like that. But Stone Cold was expecting it. He was expecting me to come out with my guns a- blazin' and help him win that match. I mean, come on. If it hadn't been for me, we all know that The Undertaker would have made short work of Steve. Undertaker had that match won. The belt was as good as his. And thats where Your Olympic Hero had to step in. Had to make sure it didn't happen.
But knowing what I know made it all worthwhile. When I saw that Steve and Shane and Stephanie trusted me, it was worth it. I had a hard time not smiling because come Survivor Series, the Alliance is gonna have a little surprise. A not-so-pleasant surprise. Let's face it. The Alliance has done nothing for me. It's screwed me out of every chance I'd had. Stone Cold Steve Austin tossed my olympic medals in a river. Do you really think I could forgive him for that? Not in a hundred, million years. Oh, it's true.
Watching my medals tied that cinder block sink into the river. Well, a piece of me drowned that night. Those medals represented everything about me. I had a fuckin' broken neck when I won them. I had a fuckin' broken neck but I still came through. I mean, talk about intensity. That was intense. And then Austin, without a second thought, tossed them away like so much trash. Everyone says I wouldn't have tossed good ol' Stevie-boy over that bridge. Everyone says I was just trying to get him to agree to a rematch. Half-true. I WOULD have tossed him, givin the slightest provocation. He would have been swimming in something other then a wading pool. And I would have been laughing.
But everything turned out fine. I got my rematch. I got the belt. I was the winner. I was the champion. Then suddenly, I wasn't. It was -that- fast. Goddamn Regal. I could have killed him that night. I was so mad. But what could I do? There wasn't a goddamn thing I could do.
And after all that. After all that, do you really think I'd want to defect to a company that did that to me? What would have been gained from that? Like I said before. I -know- what I'm doing. I have a plan. You know, using my intelligence and stuff.
Austin had us fooled at Invasion. He had us fooled good. Well, I'm just going to repay the favor. I have the WWF fooled good. I have the Alliance fooled good. I have everyone fooled. That's just the way I want it. Just when everything is at its bleakest, guess who's gonna be the knight in Red, White and Blue armor. Guess who's gonna be the saviour of the WWF. I'll give you one hint: He's an olympic gold medalist.
The Alliance. Fuck them. They're history. They're gone. Austin is gonna be asking people "Do you want Fries with that, sir?" after I'm done with them. Shane and Stephanie are gonna have to crawl back to Daddy Vince. Beg for forgiveness. And me? I'm gonna be basking the accolades of the 'Superstars'. I can't wait to hear the apologies flow forth from pretty lips. They're gonna be kissin' my red, white and blue butt. I hope they like the taste of Stars 'n' Stripes.
