You Call That Music?
- written by TAFKAE while listening to a Kraftwerk CD
(and btw, I take checks and Visa, but I prefer cash ^_~)

"You call that music?"

17 looked up. He hadn't heard his sister coming in, probably because his Kraftwerk CD was up too loud. He looked down at his work again. "Yeah, it's my music. Got a problem with it?"

18 pushed herself off the door frame and entered. "It sounds like someone scooting their butt around on a synthesizer."

"And yours sounds like nails on a chalkboard," he retorted calmly, as always, something he knew annoyed the heck out of her.

His sister scowled. "It's called 'classical violin'," she snapped.

He smirked, not looking up from whatever it was he was tinkering with. "And mine's called 'German pop'."

She glanced at the CD player on the table near his desk. "Did that guy just say - "

"'I'm the Operator with my Pocket Calculator'," 17 quoted perfectly. "The lyrics are kind of stupid, but the instrumental helps me think."

"I wouldn't be able to think with that butt-on-synthesizer crap blasting in my ear," 18 growled. "I came in to turn it down. I can hear it right through the door."

"So?"

"The front door. With every door in between closed."

17 decided to ignore her until her hand reached for the volume controls, at which point he slapped it without looking up from his tinkering.

"OW!" She jumped back. "You dork!"

"Leave the music alone," he replied, calmly enough to set his sister off.

In a fit of anger, she put her foot through his stereo, then calmly walked out of the room.

Now 17 was irked. "You'd better not have broken the CD, sis," he said, still calmly.

She smirked as she shut the door behind her. "I couldn't care less." He'd make a new CD player or something anyway. After all, that was the kind of thing he was good at.

Just based on the "twins-argue-a-lot" premise, while I was supposed to be doing evil English homework, and while I was listening to a CD I have of Kraftwerk. It's a German band and the songs have stupid lyrics and go on forever and sound like someone scooting their butt around on a synthesizer. But I like the CD anyway, it's a heck of a lot better than listening to Pokémon music.
