Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Dido's music or song writing, or characters in the UPN show Roswell. For the sake of this piece of fiction, the song Isobel, from my prospective would be told through the eyes of Max to his sister Isabel during the wedding planning ordeal.

Material Used: DIDO – ISOBEL

Treatment: A letter written to Isabel from Max, about her troubles and worries.

I thought it was funny when you missed the train…

(Flash back to the night before)

Max: You think you have everything packed?

Isabel: Yep, pretty much.

Max: What about what you leave behind here, back in Roswell?

Isabel: You know you could be coming with me?

When I rang you at home they said you'd left yesterday…

Max: Is Isabel there?

Jesse: No, Isabel left the house late last night.

Noon the following day, I was on my way to work and I saw your car parked by that old tree.

I thought it was strange when the tree found your car, in Ennis where we used to hang around. I thought I would write you a letter and this is what I would say:

Dear Isobel,

I hope you're well and what you've done is right. This is what I couldn't come out and admit this is what I felt deep inside.

Oh it's been such hell, to let you go so you can do what you have to do. I don't agree with it, but it's something I'll have to adjust with time.

I wish you well, in your journey through this new life you must lead. I never let myself believe this time would come. And just like every other night, I hope you're safe tonight.

It's been a long day coming and long will it last, when I decided to shut you out of my life. I never thought I would never see you walk down the isle.

When it's last day leaving, and I'm helping it pass within my own self pity. I'll always remember by loving you more. You are my sister and I do love you. You above all others, except Michael, realize what secretes we had to keep and the lies we lived just to live a normal life. But we've never been normal, have we?

I look at the man you want with your whole heart and I have to ask who he would become, and all the things he'd have done, would he have loved you and not let you down and would he be stronger than his father?

Don't punish yourself, I kept asking please, leave it well alone because your time will come, but is it now, is he the right one for you?

Once again, Isobel, I hope you're well from the choices that you made and what you've done is right.

Oh it's been such hell, keeping myself from holding you back. I wish you well, because you are my blood and, I hope you're safe tonight.

It's been a long day and it keeps coming, but as long will it last, you will always be my sister.

When it's last day and you're leaving, and I'm helping it pass I will do it by loving you more.
