Arguments take a lot out of a person
"If you're in love with him, shouldn't you be with him then. Or bring him back to you?"
It is unclean union, and unholy.
"But you only decided that after he left you."
I only realized it then.
"It's love, father. Or else you wouldn't still be worrying about it."
It's wrong. And that's all there is to say about it.
"But it's not. For lust and lechery and gain it would be. But to consummate a love…is it not the most holy thing to love everyone, everything. I have loved men, Father."
Yes, but never carnally.
"Would it have been so horrible. You never punished man and women
for having children, and yet sometimes it has taken more than one try,
has it not? Sometimes it is
for pleasure rather than purpose."
But the union is not unclean.
"The union is no different if there is love."
Men and Women were intended, Men and Men were not.
"Are you trying to convince yourself or me?"
I am trying to remind you of what's right.
"I know what's right, I know you love him. You gave your humans freedom of will after realizing that your angels should have had it. Yet he got it on his own. Do you not love him for that?"
The former was a mistake and the latter is an untruth. There is only platonic love.
"I wish you would see…"
I do see. I am the all seeing.
"Yes, I know that."
A distraught Messiah wrapped himself in Michael's strong arms.
Despite what his father had said God did not monitor all parts of Heaven,
in fact, that was what
Michael was for.
"You love him, right?"
Michael stuttered. "He is my creator, I…"
"No. I mean love, passionately, romantically."
The angel sighed. "Yes."
"Then why…"
"He's afraid."
"Of what?"
Michael shook his head. "I said too much. If you really want to know talk to…Well, you know. The murderer."
Jesus blinked. "Oh, Cain? I suppose…" he squirmed closer to Michael, who would have thought the Messiah would be a cuddler? Though, given his love everyone attitude… "I think I might."
"You do that."
"Then maybe I can figure out why he tortures himself so." The
Messiah was falling asleep, arguments with his father, few and far between
as they were took a lot out
of him, and Michael did make a good pillow. The Angel had been his
guardian ever since he had died. And…
"'Night Michael…"
"Just sleep, Messiah."
Note: this is going to fit in with a looong story about Cain that will be awhile in coming, so bare (or is it bear) with me for a while, K?
