Dancer In The Dark by Oro
She turned the lights off and was about to leave.
Suddenly, she decided she couldn't leave.
Not until she did one last thing.
She needed to do it.
She checked to see if anyone was there;
No one was.
She opened her bag and got her CD.
She was really going to do it.
Slowly, yet surely, her body started swaying to the familiar music.
She laughed;
She hasn't been this happy in quite a while.
Suddenly, she bumped into him.
Literally.
"Casey!" she gasped.
He blushed.
"Dana, I…uhh…heard music, and, uhh…"
He didn't know what to say.
She didn't, either.
They stood there, staring at each other as the song ended and another one started.
"It was nice." he finally said.
"What was?"
"The dance."
"No, it wasn't. You had no right to just…"
"I know. I'm sorry."
"You should be!"
She blushed.
"I better get going. Good night."
She said as coldly as she could and turned away.
She started picking up her stuff.
"Dana,"
He said.
"What?"
"Uhh…nothing. Good night."
"Night," She said and entered the elevator.
She pushed the button.
The two elevator doors closed.
He stood there, staring at the elevator doors.
Why didn't he tell her?
He decided he will, tomorrow.
He knew he wouldn't.
Suddenly, the two elevator doors opened.
She was there.
I, um, forgot my CD."
"Oh." He said.
She looked at him for a moment.
"I'm sorry."
"What for? I'm the one who should be sorry."
"I know, I know…I shouldn't have yelled at you."
"I love you."
He said it.
He couldn't believe he said it.
She couldn't believe he said it.
"What?" she asked, shocked.
"I, uhh, kinda love you."
"You can't love me, that's ridiculous."
He blushed.
"Aw, I'm sorry…what I meant was…" she searched for the right word, "What?!"
He kissed her.
She kissed him back.
"This is absolutely insane, Casey."
"Why?"
"I don't know…it just is."
He just looked at her.
"I like it." She smiled.
He smiled back.
They kissed again and got into the elevator.
The elevator doors closed again, for the last time that day.
The music played on.

"Words are useless,
especially sentences
They don't stand for anything
How could they explain how I feel?"
