-----------------

It was cold.

And windy.

They were covered in purple goo.

She felt this was better a time than never.

As she sat on a nearby tombstone, she let out a deep breath.

"Spike?"

The blonde vampire looked up at her from his handy work. A demon who had a bad run in with Spike's sword.

"Hm. What, luv?"

Another deep breath.

"I.. I love you."

A thud.

Spike had fainted.

And Buffy laughed.

She hopped off the cold stone and kneeled next to Spike. She hadn't expected this sort of reaction, maybe a kiss or two hundred. But never a fainting.

She slapped his cheek a couple of times and waited for him to open his eyes. As she studied the features of the man she really did truly love, he awoke.

"Did I just pass out like a little soddin' girl?"

Buffy nodded.

"Son of a bitch."

She chuckled and got off her knees, putting her hand out for Spike, he eagerly accepted, pulling himself up.

"So.. I heard right? You love me?"

"Yup."

Grinning, he spoke.

"I knew I'd break you, Slayer."

Buffy scoffed and socked his chest.

"Ow! Bloody hell! Are you trying to kill me after finally proclaiming your love? Hiding the evidence, I see.."

She stopped him by placing two fingers against his lips. Grabbing his shirt, she pulled him into a hug, wrapping her arms around him tightly.

Spike wrapped his arms around her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"What are we gonna do about our little friend on the ground here?"

"I think Barney can sit tight for a little while."

And in the calm of the cemetery, the purple goo covered couple held each other.

They were truly happy for once in a very long time.

End.
