Shades of Crimson

Inspired by the drama of Regulus and Keige, from "Princess Rouge". *sniff*

We dance tonight, all bathed in light

Others watch our lover's flight

'Cross ballroom floor, ask nothing more

But that we can share forever.

The room is filled by couples milled

Their presence I can't even feel

Just you and me, in crimson sea-

My flowing, silken skirts.

I'm in a dream, or so I seem

Amid the light- a King and Queen

Songs fill the air- the truth they bare

For only love is here.

For balcony, we're sure to flee

After the last slow melody

The night is fair- all stars aglare

The navy sky an endless plain.

The breeze is slight, I drink your sight

Such handsome calm for Royal Knight

Your smile devout, box taken out

Ring golden you present!

What joy I feel- this can't be real

I embrace you- all my worries heal

We'll live always, til end of days

In our undying love.

At least I thought. Before we fought

Before my sister your Lord sought

He saved your life, now wrought with strife

Tonight, we battle fierce.

In forest dark, our two swords spark

As thrusts collide, and clang and mark

Our blood is shed- we're to be wed!

Why must lovers fight so?

You fly at me- my Destiny

To kill or to be killed by thee

My sword I wield- you have no shield

Blood drips down my hands.

Apologize, explain your ties

I gaze into your dying eyes

You disappear, no longer here

I scream my grief in vain.

Do you recall, that ancient ball

We danced in bliss, and couldn't fall?

Oh, tragedy, our Destiny.

What happened to forever?

I still wear your ring.
