Author's Note: This story is dedicated to PokeDigiManiac because I lost a bet with him. Ooh, the horror. The bet said that if I lost, I must "write a Takari of decent length." Well, if I made it of GOOD length, I'd probably never finish it. So I made it of what I hope is merely decent length, and thus finishable.
The plot of this was originally inspired by my poem, "An Angels' Kiss." However, it took off from there and only the idea that I started with has any relationship. I feel that it turned out alright, though. For a Takari, that is. ^_~
As for how Angemon and Angewomon got digivolved, I honestly don't know. I guess they just... did. I liked it much better that way, though. Seemed... deeper. Or something. Let's just say that since they are the strongest two Digimon, they can digivolve by themselves.
A Prophecy to Pass

Dedicated to PokeDigiManiac
"Angemon, you know we can't just run off, whenever we please!"
"I know that as well as you do, Angewomon, but we need to talk."
"Why now, of all times? Couldn't we spend a peaceful night with our partners for a change? Oh! It's about them, isn't it?"
"Of course. I wouldn't have taken you off for anything less."
"Is there a danger, an emergency? I have seen nothing to worry me."
"No, indeed. I presume you remember the prophecy concerning those two?"
"Yes. That the they will be the Guardians of the Digital World, Light and Hope together."
"Exactly right, but that is not all. Oh, it is all that is known for certain about it, yet the wise have taken it further."
"I did not hear of this! A new prophecy?"
"No. Simply a continuation of the old, but an important one. It is not a prophecy, to be true. It is a choice."
"A choice? Then I am sure they will make the right one. They have no failed yet."
"Ah, but it is not a conscious choice for them to make, and they must not be aware of its importance."
"Tell me, then, this secret decision that will change the world so."
"I am sorry; I cannot. I can, however, tell you of the twin results. One will have Takeru and Hikari working together to maintain the peace, harmony, and freedom of the Digital World for the rest of their lives. The other will have the pair fighting each other; Hikari as the Queen of Light, destroying the Digital World with her good intent; Takeru as the Lord of Hope, battling for the power to wipe out all evil."
"I see. They would both be fighting for what they thought to be right; both gathering armies that would be unable to resist flocking to them; both destroying the world they so love, even as they tried to save it. It is true that thee is nothing we can do to stop this course?"
"Sadly, yes. Any action of ours would likely backfire. Besides, we do not even know which choice or which way will lead them where they should go. Without knowledge, all we can do is..."
"Hope. Hope as we have always done when there was nothing else we could do."
"And have faith. Faith in them and in ourselves to do what is right. You were correct when you said that they had not failed yet. Trust that they will not."
"Yes, of course I will. In a sense, this is comforting news, Angemon. Now at least we know what their fates may be. Thank you."
"It is always my pleasure, Angewomon."
The two dedigivolved and fled into the night.

"Hey, Hikari?"
"What is it, Takeru?"
"Well, I was just lying here thinking, and I realized there was something I needed to do."
"Oh?"
Takeru answered her question with a kiss. "I love you, Hikari."
"Takeru, I love you, too."
