After the incident with Castaway, Fox began to trust Randall more to be with Alex whenever Lexington or Puck couldn't be around, and it improved their mutual trust. The lizard's guilt kept inflaming him every day though, feeling it wanting to spill from his mouth. He had to do it, he had to tell them he had been willing to harm children to get more scream energy in the past.

One night when he was done babysitting, Randall then decided he had to tell them, no matter what pain revealing the truth would bring him and the others. Swallowing thickly, he ventured to the parapets to wait for the clan's return.

Randall saw Goliath and the others come, his fronds lowered in fear and how his reaction would be but did his best to keep it together. Brooklyn saw his friend, though not as cheerful as he should be.

"Hey, Rand. What's wrong?" Brooklyn asked curiously. Randall hugged himself.

"I-I have something to say to you all, and Elisa too. C-can we talk inside?" he questioned. Hudson furrowed his brow but nodded. "I suppose, lad, with whatever ye got to say."

They all went inside then, along with Lexington going to get Elisa for the news that Randall had for them. Interested, Elisa followed the smaller gargoyle into the living room. Randall sat on a chair, the eyes of everyone on him.

Swallowing, Randall began to speak. "Y-you remembered when I told you I was blackmailed into helping Waternoose with the Scream Extractor?" he asked. Hudson nodded. "Yes, but there seems to be more, right lad?"

Randall nodded. "Y-yes. I… I wasn't blackmailed. I was agreeing to help that monster with his evil schemes. I even kidnapped a human child who went through her closet door and befriended a rival of mine named James P. Sullivan. Waternoose and I needed a child to experiment the Extractor on to ensure it worked." he said, gazing down guiltily.

Goliath looked pretty mad at those words. Randall had nearly harmed a child? "What…?" he growled lowly but allowed Randall to continue. Randall froze up but did his best to keep speaking, still stumbling over words. "S-Sullivan managed to rescue the kid from my hands, before she wound up being hurt. But in the end, they threw me through a doorway. So in a way, I did deserve my banishment. I'm evil," he said croakily.

Brooklyn himself was shocked too, as his brothers and sister. They never knew that the one they called friend was really a villain to the core, and they had let him into their home!

"Why?" Brook demanded, hand clenched, while Goliath kept growling, starting to lose his calmness. Randall's fronds lowered, feeling shy around them again. "I-I didn't want to be thrown into the dump again after being accepted when others wouldn't. I wanted to start a new life without it hanging over my head. And so far, all of you had been the only ones to take me in. That's why I lied," Randall said in a small tone.

He stood up then, backing away when Goliath too stood and towered over the smaller lizard. Randall's legs trembled, wondering what Goliath's judgment was going to be, but deep down he already knew, tears moistening.

"You betrayed us, Randall Boggs! We fell for your blackhearted lies and allowed a dangerous monster into our home!" roared Goliath. Hudson's ears fell slightly. Monster seemed too harsh, for Randall didn't look like one now, trying to make himself as small and defenseless as he could.

"Lad, wait-" called Hudson in earnest. Randall looked at Goliath in fear and a begging face for mercy, fronds lowered all the way, feeling like his old usual timid self from college. Before he could defend himself, Goliath raised his hand, striking it down.

Randall winced in pain, falling to the floor, feeling dizzy, stomach churning, heart welling up in sorrow and neglect. The one who had taken him in as one of their own, had hit him, which he felt he deserved. Tears slipped down his cheeks, hearing Elisa scolding Goliath but he didn't really care now, not even hearing Brooklyn running to his side. He stumbled up to his feet, limping and holding his face that had three bloody scratch marks, running away.

I don't belong anywhere. I deserved to be hit! Randall wailed silently, staggering out the door of the Eyrie Building, crying onto the streets of New York.

"Goliath! Why did you do that?!" Elisa yelled in anger, pointing at her love. True she was also angry at Randall for lying, but he didn't deserve the beating. Goliath just folded his arms. "It was a lesson. To tell those like him not to mess with my clan, or to think they could ever be welcomed if they lied to us." he growled. Brooklyn backed away, feeling cold at his leader.

"He's not the monster he once was anymore, Goliath. I should know. Randall and I played together in the lake in Central Park. Was he the child killer then? No. So I'm going to find him!"

The lavender gargoyle didn't like that at all. "Don't you think of doing it!" he roared. But Brooklyn already ran out of the room. Lex and Broadway glanced at one another before following suit, Bronx woofing behind them. Hudson and Elisa stayed to keep talking to Goliath, whose eyes were still aglow.

Randall ran invisible through the streets, still holding his face from Goliath's talons, heart feeling very broken, wondering if now he could ever trust anything or anyone ever again after this. Friendship and family were nothing but pain. He vaguely heard the shouts of the Trio behind him but didn't listen, running down another alleyway. Meanwhile, a big dark shadow flew above, following the lizard monster.

After a time of running and halting in an empty alleyway, Randall halted in his running, choking, and sobbing. His face still hurt him. Seeing a puddle, Randall gazed in there, three long talon scars there, blood coming down his face.

Randall spotted an unused towel hanging on a trash bin. Whimpering, he took the towel, shaking it then placing it on his face to stop the bleeding while he curled there near it. He was alone again and doubted nobody else would want to take him in now. The gargoyles had been the few who could see his real personality. But now that his true evil colors were shown, he felt more ashamed than before, unaware of someone watching him.

The dark figure gave a little sneer and cruel smile as he began to climb down but kept in the shadows.

Why had I been evil? What's wrong with me? wailed Randall inside, the rain falling down his skin, making him shiver up. He next wrapped the towel around himself after the bleeding stopped a bit.

But then what he didn't expect was a voice speaking, fronds shooting up.

"Didn't expect you out here so soon, little lizard…" said a voice that sounded like Goliath. Randall yelped, holding the towel tight and shaking. "Go away Goliath! I know no one wants me! Just leave me alone!"

The voice replied. "Oh, simple lizard. Didn't my father tell you about me?" Feeling scared, Randall glanced at whoever was speaking coming out of the shadows, eyes glowing red, body very dark. Randall pushed back in fear, fronds still down, the dark-skinned large gargoyle revealed himself, wearing tough armor, a cruel grin on him. Randall then knew who he was.

His body shook in fear, Thailog was even worse than Goliath! "T-Thailog-g…" he stuttered, backed into the wall. Thailog came closer, his eyes gleaming in awe at the sight of the lizard monster that wasn't a gargoyle. This spelled a great opportunity for him.

He pointed his gun then. "No need to run, Lizard. I had spied on you for a long time. Now is the moment to meet you. But tell me, where did those scratches come from?" The black clone questioned smoothly.

Randall snarled in a scared way, covering his scratches. "None of your damned business!" he shouted, heart thumping, realizing his fate was sealed, and nobody would want to save him.

Thailog hissed, suddenly snatching up Randall by the throat. "I'll teach you manners, Lizard. But at the moment, you're coming with me!"

Randall squirmed in Thailog's hold, face turning green from his color changing skill, until suddenly he felt a prick of a needle. He yelped before eventually slipping unconscious in Thailog's talons. Thailog gave a grin of satisfaction, happy he got the lizard tonight. He traced his fingers along the lizard's scratches, which looked like gargoyle marks to him.

He carried Randall in bridal carry, taking off into the night, having big plans for his new pet.

Brooklyn glided around the city with his two brothers, trying to scent out his friend, and called for him.

"Randall! Randall!" He yelled out, landing on a rooftop and looking about. Lex and Broadway did the same thing but nothing.

The red male felt worried, hoping nothing had happened to him and mad at Goliath at the same time for hurting Randall. He prayed wherever Randall was he would be alright.
