One day, far within the premises of Dark Land, an evil king sits on his throne, muddling about a recent loss.
"Ugh! If only those kids could work better in teams rather than fighting themselves!"
That outburst strikes an idea into the evil king's head. Grinning, he calls for his kids.
"Ludwig! Lemmy! Iggy! Roy! Morton! Wendy! Larry! Junior! Get down here!"
The seven kids, hearing the yells of their father, come rushing down the stairs, nearly stumbling over each step as they trample down. Within minutes, the eight children of the evil King Bowser stand before him, smiling and grinning.
"Are we gonna kidnap the Princess?" Larry squealed.
"Yeah! It's been so long since we were in a game and I hate that because... Well... Because I do!" Morton caught himself from rambling on.
"I want to be in a game! That's not fair! Why does Bowser Jr get to!" Wendy threw a typical tantrum.
"Huh..." Iggy muttered, pushing up his glasses and rustling his rainbow hair.
"Mario wants a piece of me!" Roy boasted, flexing his muscles.
"I want to build a snowman!" Lemmy objected to their ideas.
"And I vant to invent!" the eldest Koopaling Ludwig said.
"I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU GUYS WANT TO DO!" Bowser yelled, "WE ARE ON MY SCHEDULE!"
"Can it be on mine next week?" Roy questioned, "Cuz y'know... Gotta obey the muscles-"
"Shut up, Roy. I am the eldest," Ludwig frowned.
"And I am the strongest! I will pound ya into oblivion!"
"You know a vord zat big?"
"SHUT UP-"
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP NOW!" Bowser scolded. Ludwig and Roy stop their fighting and look up at their dad with scared looks, "And this is why I called you all down! We need to mend our family bonds!"
"And how will we do that, Dad?" Iggy questioned. Bowser looks down at his son and smiles.
"I have the perfect idea. You guys will have to answer this sheet of questions full of difficult questions," Bowser started as he holds up a piece of paper with writing on it, "And the first one to finish all of them will win... Well, a prize!"
"What are the questions?" Larry questioned.
"Some of the toughest questions in life that couples, or in this case, teams, will have to solve together. The only way to move on is to compromise."
"And what's the prize?!" The Koopaling once again asked.
"A hike in allowance. Not saying how much," Bowser replied, "But the team to do it first gets it!"
The Koopalings all cheer, then start to look at each other. Iggy and Lemmy do high-fives, Roy and Morton slap each other's shells and Larry and Ludwig simply grin at each other. This will be easy for all of them.
"HOWEVER," Bowser insisted, "I will choose the teams! It will be too easy if I simply let you all choose your own teams!"
All the Koopalings do a groan as Bowser holds up a chart.
"And the teams are..."
Bowser holds up a sheet that says:
Ludwig and Roy
Lemmy and Morton
Iggy and Larry
Wendy and Bowser Jr.
Seeing this, the faces of the Koopalings drop.
"VHAT?" Ludwig screamed, "I don't vant to be vith Roy! He stinks!"
"You do too, fatty!" Roy flamed back, plugging his nose for extra effect.
"I don't want to be with that clown!" Morton raised his voice, "He has problems!"
Lemmy objects, "I do not!"
"Look at Iggy! He's a freaking copier!" Larry cried, "He always copies my strategies! And he's always so innocent!"
"And all Larry does is break rules! Even Dark Land's!" the Koopaling complained back about his partner. Bowser gives Iggy a weird look.
"Because we're Koopas, Iggy!"
"But-"
"QUIET! All of you brats!" the king shouted in anger, causing the castle to shake a bit. With scared looks on their faces, the Koopalings quiet down and look up to their father, "Now, I want you all to come up and pick up your first task."
The four groups walk up to Bowser and snatch a piece of paper on it. On it, the paper lists the first requirement:
#1: Choose a Land to live in.
The four group members look at their teammates and start to glare. Within seconds, even more quarreling is heard throughout the throne room.
