THE NIGHT BEFORE EPISODE ONE

Synopsis: A parody of the poem "The Night Before Christmas". I wrote this
back in 1999 about a week or so before Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom
Menace hit theaters nationwide. And considering it took me, like, less than
fifteen minutes to write, I think it's pretty good.
Let the parody begin!
* * *
'Twas the night before Episode One,
And outside the theater,
Not a person was stirring,
Not one single seater.
They're all in their sleeping bags,
Instead of their beds,
While visions of Jedi
Dance in their heads.
For when morning comes,
It's a race against time,
For they'll all race
To be at the front of the line.
They'll sit in their seats
At a movie meant to amaze,
And I've got a feeling
It'll last many, many days.
The people in the theater
Will stare at the silver screen,
Entranced by the characters
And every memorable, colorful scene.
They'll munch their popcorn
While drinking their Cokes, Mountain Dews, or Sprites,
They'll watch the great battles
Between the Sith and the Jedi Knights.
When the movie is over,
They'll return home,
And thus ends
My first parody poem.
The End
* * *
A/N: Well, thus ends one of the first of many poetic parodies. Please R&R,
but no flames, 'cause otherwise I'll have to kick your sorry arses from here
to Middle Earth. See ya!
