Race The Wind

by SilverWolf

Mina stared as Haruka's car swung through the final lap. She could see Michiru rushing to congradulate her friend. The tall londe had once told Mina that though she made a lot of sacrifices, she had the support of her friends.

As Lita gazed at the last cars coming in, she thought, *Well, at least I've got the scouts*

"Ohayo Lita."

The brunette jumped and then smiled sweetly at Haruka holding Michiru as they walked up to her.

"Oh, I just came to see you race!"

Michiru frowned, "Are you here alone?" Lita blushed, "Um.. yes... I just wanted to see if Haruka won... I've got to go meet the girls for a study group. Ja!"

As Lita hustled away, Mirchiru nestled herself into Haruka's arms and laughed accusingly, "You've done it again!"

Haruka drew her eyes from the rase track tp stare at her love, "What... what's I do?"

Her lifemate just shook her head and sighed.

Lita blushed as Haruka beat Mina in the arcade, again. Mina smiled, "How do you do it? I didn't think speeds like that were possible!"

Haruka laughed as she stood, a foot and a half taller that Mina and just a foot taller that Lita.

"Well, I race the wind!"

Mina grinned, "I bet!" Then Lita gently pushed the Senshi of Love to the cute guys who worked in the arcade.

Haruka hid a grin behind her hand as Lita latched herself to her.

"Hmm... Lita, do you want to come for a ride with me on my bike?"

As Lita nodded, Haruka walked over to her bike. Seeing Lita shiver, Haruka draped her school jacket over her and started the bike. She missed the tall brunette blush as red as a beet.

Looking over the rail, at wind whipping the ocean, Lita snuggled by the strong blonde beside her. Haruka smiled at the tough girl next to her, she'd gotten attached to this child and she had to admit it was good to have her around. Pulling her closer, Haruka saw Litaduck her head and it dawned on her *MY STARS! She has a crush on me!* The grin on her face only got wider.

Tilting Lita's face up, Haruka gazed into her eyes and leaned down to press her lips to her forehead.

"Lita, sweetheart, you'll find someone who loves you someday! Until then, I promise I'll be there for you, with advice or warm arms!"

Haruka frowned as Lita's eyes teared up, "No... you didn't say anything wrong!" Lita blurted out at the sight of Haruka's panicked look. "I'm honored, oh hell... thank you! I will come to you!"

As Lita hugged her, Haruka smiled, "Come on, let's head home!"

As Haruka and Lita plled up to the arcade, Michiru waved. Lita glanced at Haruka as the girl made her way to Michiru; and smiled a little. *OH.. so that's their connection!*

Haruka watched as Lita walked away and glared at Michiru, "You knew, didn't you? Oh no! Are there more?"

At Michiru's nod Haruka shook her head in astonishment.

"I thought you'd enjoy their attentions!"

Haruka pulled Michiru to her and whispered, "I may race the wind, but in the end, the waves caught me up in the tide!"
