She smiled and continued down the alley. How she had lived a lie for so long was beyond her comprehension. But then, the Jellicles were a rather simple tribe. If you follow the code, you're in for life. Once a Jellicle, always a Jellicle. Unless of course, you offend Old Deuteromny in some way- however that was done. Refuse to be his mate most likely...like Grizzabella, she thought.
That was another thing about the Jellicles. Their balls were so...Jellicle-ish. All those songs and dances to remember. At least they had some gorgeous toms...One rather fabulous tom to be exact. And then there was that Rum Tum Tugger. Drooling over him was slightly nauseating, but it was her ticket to fitting into the tribe...just as Daddy said
She smiled as she found the entryway into the basement of the abandoned townhouse. Home at last. Her father would be pleased with her progress. Even Munkustrap was trusting her as a friend...There was a joke. Like she'd ever seriously want to be around Munkustrap. That "goody two-shoes" was his title as far as she was concerned.
Stepping into the basement, she quickly looked herself over in a mirror before stepping into the main living area of her home. It was then, that she heard the words she had waited for for almost a year, "Welcome home....Electra."
