Weaknesses - Prologue

The moon guardian stared at the deserted surroundings. The sun had set a while ago, and clouds roamed the sky covering the last rays of light. It was now that Yue felt the strongest. The time when the power of the moon gave him a surge of strength but this time he knew better. Something was preventing him from having his powers heightened. Someone was blocking it.
A new enemy? Nothing the Clow mistress couldn't face.
Sakura's power unable to sustain him again? Impossible. Touya's power won't fail me. It won't.
Clow? His master? Only someone with an extraordinary amount of power could do this.
A wind blew by and a dark cloud covered the moon momentarily. Yue staggered forward clutching the hem of his white robe. Never had this happened to him. It wasn't unusual for the moon to be blocked once in a while by a passing cloud but for Yue to feel completely weak when it does happen was unusual.
Luckily it was a quick spell, and he regained his posture. Spreading his wings, he flew toward the direction of the Kinomoto residence, feathers falling behind him. Just a short distance away, he felt the same queasiness he felt a while ago. His arms were trembling, like they were useless, his wings moving desperately to keep him in the air. His breaths came out quicker, and he felt himself plunge into a pool of darkness.

"Yue!"
Blue eyes. Worried. Blue eyes shouting his name. "Yue!?"
Yue felt his senses awaken as someone began pushing him awake. Looking around, he saw that he was cradled in Touya's lap. Bicycle on the floor and school bag astray, Touya hung over Yue like a ghost checking him for the smallest of injuries.
"Ne, To-ya, I'm f.." I heard myself say automatically but a wave of pain shot through me and I grimaced.
"You're not fine!" he declared. Pulling me up, he carried me to the Kinomoto's, sweat tricking down his face. As soon as he rested me on the bed, he collapsed on the near by chair and I felt vulnerable.
How could I, a guardian of one of the most powerful magicians need help from a regular being? Like it was yesterday, I relived the images when
Touya gave me his power. Wasn't it enough that I depended on him to survive? No! Every time I see him, I become more and more vulnerable until he sees me for what i really am. A weak guardian...
I looked at the slump next to me and I realized that Touya had fallen asleep. Moving very slow, I tried to bend my hand. My body felt like it was dead. Like my mind was barely comprehendable and my body slowly followed. I tried again but to no avail, the pain was too much. Sighing, I slumped on the bed wondering what will happen next.

Clad in a long dark robe, a mysterious figure loomed over the contents on the table. His long silky hair held up by a thin band, he picked up different vitals and peered at a dusty old book through his half-rimmed moon glasses. His finger dawdled on the page and he left it drop suddenly. A large amount of dust blew up and he waved it away with a hand gesture. Pulling a piece of paper out, he walked swiftly toward the candle at the far end of the room. He looked at the piece of parchment and noted the moon's orbital movements. Nodding slightly, he left his chamber with his staff and the noted piece of paper.
