This was my very first ever attempt at fanfic, of any sort. I
wrote it nearly 5 years ago, after "The 8 Doctors" and "War of the
Daleks" had shown that you didn't need great writing skills to
make a Dr Who story. (I wonder how many people like me were put
off writing fanfic because we knew we'd never be as good as the
NAs?)
Anyway, my attempt at fanfic was still pretty crappy, even by
T8D's standards, so I left it unfinished and thought I'd deleted
it. I recently found this one remaining passage on an old floppy
disk and thought I'd share it...

Revelations and Resurrection
The Doctor and Sam made their way deeper into the Dalek ship. Sam
shuddered at the sight of the inhuman grey metal corridors and strangely
angled doorways. They reminded her of the last time she had been to
Skaro.
"It's quiet. Too quiet," said the Doctor. "I don't like it."
Sam shuddered again. If the Doctor wasn't happy, things must be
very bad indeed. She watched him as he paused by a grey metal door. A
frown floated across his face as he reached for his sonic screwdriver.
"We should find what we're looking for in here," he said as he
worked on the locking mechanism.
Sam was about to ask him what exactly they were looking for, but
she was too late. The strangely angled door was rising slowly to reveal
a man in uniform. He had curly blonde hair, and seemed to be talking to
a feathery helmet which he carried under one arm.
"Another madman," sighed Sam. "Why can't we meet any sane
megalomaniacs for a change?" Then she noticed the look of shock on the
Doctor's face. She shuddered. If the Doctor was afraid of this man,
things were even worse than they appeared.
The Doctor recovered himself. "Commander Maxil, late of the
Gallifrey Capitol Guard?"
The strange man looked up. "Of course. You were expecting
somebody else?" His voice was clipped, precise, with an arrogant edge
to it.
"I don't understand," said Sam. "If he's from Gallifrey, isn't he
one of the good guys?"

never finished!)
