If I Never Knew You

There she was. Raena Renee O'Riley. Fourteen years old, fourth year Hufflepuff and never been kissed Raena. Her friends called her Rainy, though it bugged her to death. Sometimes her heart ached for the past and sometimes it ached for the future, sometimes for someone to be with her and sometimes to be alone. That was how she was. Just Raena. Crazy, talk to herself Raena.
Not to say that Raena was ugly, or to say that she was beautiful for that matter, for she was neither. She was unapealling to the eye, yet some would say she was beautiful to know. Some would also say she belonged in an insane asylum, but that was their problem.
Now Raena stood on the side of a muggle road, it was deep midnight, maybe past, she wasn't sure. She took out her wand and flagged down the Knight Bus. It came up directly in front of her.
"Ah, Raena, where're we going tonight?" asked Ern imediatley as he saw her.
"Only just to London, I'm going to stay at the Leakey Cauldron."
"Eh? Are you? Your mum won't be comin' then?" he asked.
"No, she doesn't really know I'm going at all," Raena answered truthfully, blushing a bit, her dark hair was back in braids and her dull blue eyes seemed to actually shine that night, making her seem somewhat beautiful.
"Your eyes," Ern said distractedly, "They look different. Like sort of cloudy yet clear at the same time."
"Ern, you crack me up sometimes," said Raena, handing him the money that she needed to get to London. Ern took the money and let her on.
"Good night Ern, wake me when we get there," she whispered as she got into a bed. Ern nodded.
And she slipped off into her dream world. Her dream was the same as the one she had had the night before and the night before that and the night before that and so on and so forth. She was running through a field of flowers, with a bouquet in her arms, it had yellow and pink and purple wild flowers in it, Remus and her father and her mother were all there, they were laughing and smiling as they talked to eachother and they smiled each time she brought them more flowers. After a while, her friends showed up, Ernie and Justin and Hannah, all smiling. Justin handed her a flower and smiled then, knocking her under the plants where no one could see them, he laughed and rolled over next to her. She smiled at him and felt her heart skip a beat. She could still hear the adults laughing and talking happily. She smiled…
"Raena! Off! We're in London!" it was Ern. How rude! Reana thought to herself, right in the middle of a dream, a great dream… if only I could ever finish it…
"Coming," she mumbled, almost incoherently, she walked down the steps to the bus, "Thanks Ern."
"Any time Rainy."
Raena pointed a finger at him and shook her head jokingly, Ern laughed.
"Well, I'll be going, goodbye Ern."
"Goodbye Raena. Do take care."
"I will, don't worry about me!"
"How could I not?" Ern shouted out the bus window as it drove away. Raena laughed. That Ern, always a kidder for ya! She smiled and headed into the Leaky Cauldron.
