Tombsones lingered in some places, statues in others. More rose up out of the dark, cut a hole in it with a butterknife mistiness like credits rolling endlessly across the screen.

"We shall retire here for the night," sighed Taliesin wearily.

He settled his withered old body down on the nearest knarled tree stump. The same body which I had known to produce great power and wrath. As the crescent moon drifted lazily out from behind the quilted blanket of clouds covering the sky, I noticed yet again as the pale rays of moonlight passed over Taliesin's face, how old he was getting. Though it might not be old enough to keep him from this journey.

Clearing my throat with a noise like a door snapping shut, I gazed into Taliesin's blue-grey eyes.

"Has Darwen brought you any more news?" I chanced to ask.

"Yes," Taliesing answered sharply fixing me with the gaze I knew only too well. "The enemy has gathered, Pagasus is regaining strength, and is taking over more of the Hai Land."

It felt like I had taken a blow in the stomach, for Pagasus was the most feared Lord of Darkness of all time. He had risen a mere 10 years before. When he had been the most powerful being in Dothmist all the beings of Harad Muil, and beyond, to the more peaceful places of Dothmist lived in terror of him.

Many battles were fought, some were won, bit it became harder to win as Pagasus's Presence spread over the land, the years of His rein were shadowed with destruction and terror, until he seemingly disappeared. All of Dothmist should have realized what this meant, for Pagasus had been searching for the Wand belonging to Morgiana (another rival terror, before the time that Pagasus had plagued Dothmist with terror and confustion) It was none other than Taliesin who had defeated Morgiana and ended the terror, Which had lasted for decades. This being the reason why we were traveling to the mountains of Galiehr where Pagasus last dwelled.

"What has happened Taliesin?" I asked.

"What I just said, Pagasus is regaining strength, and his supporters have been spotted" Spat Taliesin.

I could think of no reply. As the darkness thickened around us, I was suddenly chilled.

"Must we spend the night in a graveyard?"

I asked, not able to keep the fear out of my voice.

"Yes Gryphon we must, there is an ancient magic here which you would not understand."

Taliesing replied tersley.
