Tidus sat, overlooking the rising sun in the early morning. Today was Valentines Day. He had never really thought of anything or anyone special to him. Except this year, there was someone special on his mind...
The group of fighters decided to take the airship to Luca to just to relax for a few days. All the streets were decorated with hearts or flowers that glistened as the Sun reflected on them. Parades marched making the city lively and full of joy and love. Wakka decided to go train for blitzball, while Auron said he had to attend something in Kilika. The rest of the party traveled through the streets looking at all the good the merchants were selling. All three girls were fixed on everything the merchants were selling, while Tidus and Khimari were standing, waiting for them to be finished. Something caught Tidus' eye and he went to a merchant that was selling necklaces. `I wonder if I should get something for Rikku' He thought. "Excuse me," he said. "How much is this?" The merchant offered a price and Tidus bought one special necklace.
After getting the gift wrapped, Tidus roamed about Luca looking for Rikku. Yuna and Lulu decided to go back to the Inn and take a break. Tidus finally caught sight of Rikku in the crowds watching the parade. "Hey Rikku." Tidus blushed. "Heya Tidus" she said in her usual cute voice that made Tidus go crazy. "Here I wanted to give you this." Tidus tried saying, but was cut off by the crowd marching down the street and pushing him away. After getting through the crowd, Tidus looked around for Rikku, but didn't see her. In sorrow he turned away, walking down the streets towards the ocean...
Tidus sat and watched the waves form in the ocean. He tended to relax when listening to the calming melody of the ocean. Suddenly someone sat down beside him. "Oh, hey Rikku" Tidus said as the Al Bhed smiled at him. "Here," he said, "I got you this" handing her a small little pick box with a red bow tied around it. Rikku opened it and revealed a small little pendent with a slight light green swirl in the middle. "I thought it would match your eyes" Tidus said blushing. "Wow, thank you Tidus" Rikku said putting on the necklace. She then reached into her pocket. "Here, I got you this for you" she said handing him a slightly bigger box that was wrapped. Tidus revealed a small friendship ring with his blitzball teams symbol engraved on it. "Whoa, thanks Rikku!" Tidus said happily. Rikku just smiled looking off into the ocean. "Hey umm, Rikku" Tidus started, "There's something I got to tell you." "What is it?" she said turning to look at him. "I, umm, Iloveyou." He said really
quickly. "What was that last word?" asked a bewildered Rikku. "I...love..you" said Tidus waiting to see her reaction. Rikku lifted his chin and stared into his eyes. "Heh, I love you also Tidus." She said. Tidus was amazed. "I just didn't really know if you would ever love me back..." Rikku said looking away. Tidus lifted her chin staring deeply into her eyes and leaning forward. He soon met her lips and pressed his gently against hers. Rikku returned the kiss and both of them were locked in the embrace for a while. "Happy Valentines day" Tidus said to Rikku. "Same to you" she replied as both of them went back to kissing on the ocean shore as the Sun began to slowly set on the horizon.
