Note: I do not own any of the X-men, but Kasi is of my own creation. Do
not steal her. Warning: There are a few times where I will Scott bash,
and maybe even Evan bash. I apologize for anyone who I might offend.
Kasi looked down at the paper with the neatly written address on it. She wondered if this Xavier was actually going to keep her. No one else did. He better not insist that she call him "Dad" like some of the more ambitious foster parents did.
She found the gate that read "Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters."
So he's like some rich guy who owns a school? She thought.
She heard something behind her and found something of a furry blue elf with a tail staring up at her from a crouch when she turned around.
"Who are you!" She shrieked.
"Oh, sorry," He fiddled with his watch, and lost the elfness, "I'm Kurt, a resident here at Xavier's. You must be Kasi."
"Yes."
"Then I'll take you to him." He grabbed her hand, and she found herself in an office standing in front of a bald man in a wheelchair. He looked serious and intelligent.
"Hello Kasi," He said in a calm, smart voice, "Welcome to the Xavier Institute, home of mutants. I am Professor Xavier."
They had a long talk about where she would go to school, training and the other mutants that lived there. She realized that he had taken her in to actually help her, to make her feel…normal.
"Here's your room, Kasi." Kurt said, "Make your own name tag for it so others know it your room."
She walked in the room and found it quite…homey. She got a dark red marker and Scrawled Kasi on it. She attached it to the door with her power: creating glass.
This power had sprouted when she was two. She was having a tantrum over her cereal when glass shot out from her hands in a shattered mess. She had almost killed her ungifted mother. Ever since she had been from foster parent to foster parent, but being unable to control her power she often found herself somewhere new. She had learned to keep only a few things, and save all her money, which she didn't get much of.
She emptied her bag into her dresser and collapsed on her bed. Staring up into the ceiling she wondered if she really would be accepted here. How great it would be…
Kurt woke her up from her nap with a smiling face.
"Sleepy head! Supper's ready!"
She brushed her shoulder length blonde hair and started down the stairs finding that Kurt had teleported to the dinning room. Around the table were many other mutants, only two of them adults, Ororo and Logan. Aurora seemed to be one on the spiritual side, Logan on the beat the crap out of people side. Scott, with his ruby red glasses told her "Make sure to follow the rules, Kasi." Jean, a red head, whispered something in his ear about "calming down." It assured Kasi that she wasn't the only one who thought that. Kurt smiled in a way that told her "Don't mind him, he's a bit off." Rouge darkly ate her food, in a way only Rouge could. Evan was checking the faces of everyone else, wondering what Kasi was doing here. Kitty stared at the meat that had somehow managed to be served on her plate as if it were to eat her.
Kasi, judging by these first couple seconds after they were all introduced, realized she would have no problem fitting in with this group…
