Never Again
Notes: Well, here is the result of random boredom on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I wanted to try something different for a change… so please tell me how you like it! Read and review!
He sat alone, gazing almost quizzically at the stars sparkling above. Beside him was his treasured helmet, and in his hand lay a long piece of silken cloth.
From him.
Once more the tears ran anew, unchecked and unrestrained from crystal eyes. Memories flooded into his mind just as the rivulets flowed from his heart… sweet memories of past times, both good and bad.
Why did you have to leave?
A small cry burst forth from parted lips, and knees lifted to a heaving chest so that the youth's head could lay upon them. He continued to sob in vain for the one whom he'd lost forever, the one who had always been there, by his side, directly or indirectly, from the start.
Why have you left me alone?
A paradox he was. The impossible loner…
As he had been.
The quiet, reserved and outwardly emotionless…
He'd been that, too.
The dark and mysterious with origins obscured in secrecy and treachery…
Again, this fact was shared.
He tried to feel with his soul, try to touch the presence that was now absent. How had he'd always known where he was? It was as if they were eternally connected, bound forever in this cold world of war and suffering.
But no more.
He lifted the scarf to the moonlight, seeing the sun-bright color shimmer… but dimmed by the ominous splotches of deep, dry scarlet marring the soft surface.
My kagemusha. My Blues.
He sat alone beneath the stars, mourning for his twin. Forever to be lost and drenched within the bowels of accursed solitude, forever to be questioning of himself.
Because his other half of heart and soul was no longer there… never to be again.
The wind arose to surround him, to whip longish hair into reddened eyes, to carry away his wails of sorrow.
Good-bye.
Author's Notes: Sooooo? How is it? I did this at random today because I have no inspiration to work on my other stories ^_^()
Anyhow, please tell me how it was! Peace and love to all! ~Sierra Omega~
