ODE TO PEREGRIN

A mischevious glimmer in
your deep emerald orbs,
I feel drawn in,
I'm so absorbed.

Golden brown hair falling
delicately, softly, free,
your emotions in the open,
for all to see.

For a simple mistake,
they call you a fool.
Never judge a book by it's cover,
don't they know that rule?

Ah, Pippin, I see you,
your heart, your spirit, your soul.
Brave and noble; you've
taken my heart whole.

Just a boy on your departure,
a man on your return,
so much you had matured,
so much had you learned.

If you were here,
I would hold you close;
and whisper to you gently,
and never let you go.

Peregrin Took,
you've won my heart,
And you've had me for your own,
right from the very start.
