I grow weary of beauty.
But Legolas, beauty is what makes life wonderful!
Wonderful, and perfect. Too perfect. How can one love a perfect thing? It is too surreal to exist. You must always try to live up to it, to prove that you are a wonderful, perfect thing as well.
He is not perfect.
He is scarred, his eyes are empty glass, his shoulders are hunched from pain.
He believes he carries the weight of the world, or in this case the human race, on his shoulders. He has experienced life to the fullest, the dark and the light, and yet unlike others he still longs for the light.
He fascinates me.
To everyone I am a beautiful doll, a puppet prince on the strings of my puppeteer father. A mere toy to be looked at and marveled at for its status and beauty. But he has seen, and recognized, my inner strength. He respects me for that power, not for my lineage.
It was he who saw into my mind.

When we met long ago we bonded, and you came to be the only one whom I trusted.
Is it not normal that I fall for you as well?
I am aware of the many boundaries that exist between our union, but yet I still hope.
And one day, be it many years from now, my love shall be recognized.
But until then, I must sit back and watch you as you are in the shadows while I am bathed in the light.
