Well, why not?
Author's Note: Here's a little story that just popped into my head. I might write more to it, if ya'll like this one. Please review! Thanks for reading!

Exhausted, Nita Callahan entered her room and collapsed onto her bed. She and her partner, Kit Rodriquez, had spent the day helping the feline wizards repair the World Gates. The Wizardry had taken a lot out of her and she wanted nothing more than to curl up on her bed and fall asleep, but she knew she had some research to finish before tomorrow's meeting with S'reee. Sitting up, she started flipping through her manual, looking for spells she might need. Taking her time, she stopped when it turned to the wizard's listings. Looking for her name, she saw what she was scared of finding there: the word active was printed in neat, tall black letters.
'Not again!' Nita thought, Life's hectic enough right now without worrying about the Lone One coming after her yet again. Flipping to the R's, Nita found what she was looking for. 'Good,' Nita sighed in relief. If she has to be on active, at least her partner's with her this time. Pictures of Kit flashed through her head and she smiled. All thought of getting any work done vanished as she sunk down onto her bed.
It had been four years since they had met in that clearing and had begun working together. They both had changed so much since then. Now Kit, Nita thought with a laugh, was the one who had really changed. When she first met him, he was just a scrawny little kid, but since then he had matured, far passing Nita in height. His voice was deeper but still had that Hispanic accent. Nita never would admit it to him, but he had the kind of voice that made girls go weak at the knees.
'Come to think of it,' Nita thought suddenly, 'Now that he had grown into his body, he had become quite attractive. What with the longish dark hair and deep brown eyes...
"What am I doing?!" Nita shouted, sitting up quickly. She shook her head to clear it of such unusual thoughts. "Girl, you just spent the last five minutes checking out your best friend!! It's Kit. You're not suppose to think of him like that!"
She laid back down and an image of Kit popped back into her head and Nita, for the first time, began questioning things, "Well, why not?!"
