Disclaimer: Nothing that has anything to do with Angel and its characters are mine. Thanks for asking.
Spoiler free.
This is just something I wrote while trying to get some of that damned mass communications thesis done. Short, so it fits with the challenge! 138 words, baby! :)
Angel POV
*
She danced about like an open flame in the breeze. Erratic, nonsensical, and oh so beautiful. She moved and swayed and twirled to the music that was audible to her ears and her ears alone, never missing nor miscalculating a single imaginary beat.
She was perfectly in tune with her soul--that essence that only she had mastered--as the rest of us looked on, our masks of indifference and loathing stripped, bearing our raw, naked emotions. Envy, awe, adoration; we covered the entire spectrum that night. During that solitary period when darkness reigns and the mind wonders, our eyes were pried open to the things we had rejected time and time again, until finally, that night, we accepted: unfiltered, bittersweet enlightenment. All in gratitude to a beauty dancing without music.
I know now, I love you, Cordelia.
