Author's note: This scene is from RotK. I'm really just elaborating on the
minstrel guy. The quotes are direct ones, as well. I hope you enjoy this. I
love reviews, too! Please do review, and if you wish to, flame away. Flames
will just be used to cook my food anyway, and I've been called worse things
than a bad writer.

Nurëdél stood, rising from his seat. He walked up the carpeted aisle to the center of the crowd, where they were all waiting for him to come and sing.
Waiting for him. A dream come true, to be making his debut as a minstrel in the court of the King Elessar, to sing the story of Frodo of the Nine Fingers and the Ring of Doom. Frodo himself would be listening, they said. Nurëdél was afraid, almost, that the perian who had taken the Ring actually into the fires of Mount Doom would be displeased with his song, that somehow the events would not be right. But then somehow, he knew that Frodo would not mind slight changes. Or that maybe there would not be slight changes. Maybe the song would be perfect.
Nurëdél stood now at the top of a small set of stairs, on the raised platform with the King and other important folk. Elves, Dwarves, Men, Perianath. So many races, all having fought for long over the One Ring, the Master Ring. The Ring of Doom. Nurëdél bowed low to the Lords and Kings (and the others) and spoke.
"Lo! Lords and knights and men of valour unashamed, kings and princes, and fair people of Gondor, and Riders of Rohan, and ye sons of Elrond, and Dúnedain of the North, and Elf and Dwarf, and all greathearts of the shire, and all free folk of the West, listen now to my lay. For I will sing to you of Frodo of the Nine Fingers and the Ring of Doom!"
At this, one of the perian among the lords and ladies stood up, and cried out, " O great glory and splendour! And all my wishes have come true!" and then he burst into joyous tears. Nurëdél knew that much of his job was now fulfilled, to make the wishes of another come true as that. And then he saw the Perian next to the one who had spoken, sitting quiet, eyes wide, waiting. Frodo of the Nine Fingers himself looked happily at Nurëdél, and at that moment Nurëdél knew that it was his cue to begin.
He began to sing, his voice rolling out in notes high and low, trilling and falling. The words flowed from his soul like a river of music, as the dam broke and the flood rushed out. Nurëdél watched Frodo as he sang, and saw the tears pooling in the perian's eyes. Knowing that he had done his second job as well as the first, Nurëdél gave himself up and was lost to the music.
