Author's Note: I don't think I'm good at stories like this, I'm too happy all the time. I wrote this while I listened to Only One over and over again. And, since I was mean to Ken in my other series, I decided to write something better about him. ^_^'

Ken laid on his back on the grass of Odiaba's park, staring at the sky.

Loneliness and freedom opposites

He was thinking back to his time as the Emperor, and all that he'd done. The other kids had forgiven him, and embraced him into their group.

Hiding my disconnected heart

He'd grown to care about them, and realize that he truly meant something to other people, not as a pretty face, but as a person.

Eyes still closed, I look up to heaven

Ken closed his eyes, and let the breeze brush across his face. He knew his life had turned around for the better, but he was still confused sometimes.

Strength and weakness are two sides of the same paper
I sharpened the knife of my heart
And believed in infinite strength

He regretted everything wrong he'd ever done, but he still felt at times the power he'd had. It was addictive, wonderful and awful at the same time. He'd actually considered other living beings below him.

I lived without showing my true feelings, wearing a mask

Sometimes, when he was alone in his base in the Digital World, his mind would slip from the Emperor to Ken Ichijouji, but that was only for a second, and any unwanted emotions were hidden by his dark glasses.

I know, I know, I know it's true
I know, I know there's only one me in this world
Further, further, further away
I'll run further and further to the ends of the sky, only one

Insecurity and hope are mixed together

Ken wasn't sure of himself yet, but he knew his future was bright. He was surrounded by friends and family. The past was gone.

Unable to go against fate
I waited for the time to come

He couldn't control his path then, but maybe everything turned out the way it should. Ken had gotten over his brother's death, and he and the other Digidestined had learned a lot about each other and themselves. Who's to say that Ken wouldn't have become the Emperor on his own?

Both angels and devils
Whisper inside my head
I'm the only one who can choose between them
I'll do everything without compromise, both today and tomorrow

Ken could choose now, and he would. He knew he had made, and will continue to make, the right decision. Everything would be alright, as long as Ken listened to his heart, and the kindness he possessed.

More, more, more passionate
I'll get more serious and I'll start to shine, only one

I lived without showing my true feelings, wearing a mask

Ken's true personality had been shown, and it would stay that way forever.

Ken smiled and opened his eyes, getting up. He turned to head home, knowing he'd be greeted by people who loved him. He was ready for anything now. The future only held hope.

Author's Note: I actually think that was pretty good. Maybe I'll write some more for the other Digidestined's theme songs. (Are they called image songs?) Please tell me what you think. ^_^ Constructive Criticism is appreciated, but no flames please.
